Yep. It´s not like the return of colonialism if they decide to ban them. They make even watching on the telly unbearable. If I was inside the stadium I´d probably go fucking mental (and deaf)!
Back here in Finland the TV-viewers have complained and they are mentioned on every broadcast and by every commentator. It has to be the same everywhere? They said the French have made a complaint to the organisers. Paddy Evra has said they are blaming their poor performance partially on the fucking things. That sounds like a load of crap, but guess they have to say anything to get the horns out of the stands.

Apparently they're going to ban the Vuvuzela's if some of them get thrown on the pitch. I'm contemplating flying out, buying 30 and just chucking them on the pitch, job done.

Broadcasters are trying to get them banned for the second round. Why would you pay a substantial amount of money into a game and spend the game blowing a horn ? Does not make sense.

@pj I wasn't having a go at him.. If anything, I was really pissed at the Nigerian defenders for simply admiring Messi and not doing their job.. This is the WC and is it too much to ask defenders to marshal Messi knowing fully well that when afforded the time and space Messi will be devastating.. It's obviously not Messi's fault that defenders don't put in a tackle and he can only beat what's put out in front of him.. No issues at all there.. When I said typical Messi, he is the one player who always has a field day when the teams don't mark him unlike Ronaldo, for instance who has had poor games even against weaker oppositions.. In no way am suggesting that he is a flat track bully. There have been a fair few occasions when inspite of marking him and trying to nullify his threat, he was just too good. That shows that he is World Class and I am sure very very few would disagree.. My argument is that whenever the opposition defence had a measure of him, he went into a shell and did little of note.. Off the top of my head : Inter, Chelsea, us and Rubin Kazan.. In all these matches he was virtually anonymous.. It's unreasonable to expect him to do wonders when there are 3 players marking him all the time but what I really expect from him is to atleast try something different and get into the game.. Like drift inside and pull his marker out of his comfort zone or having a go at a different defender. He is blessed with skills that would be good enough for 90% of the games but in the remaining 10% or so, if he keeps trying & trying (a la Rooney) but stills is ineffective, fair enough but so far, I have not seen him do enough when the going gets tough.. Personally, I would pick Ronaldo over Messi every-time but that doesn't imply Messi is shite.. What it means is that I prefer one world class player over another.. Btw, aren't ppl allowed to have the same opinions regarding someone or something ? You seemed to be alluding that I was merely jumping on the bandwagon and not making my own argument.. FYI, whenever possible, I have watched Barca in action for the best part of three years and I definitely have seen enough of Messi to judge him.. I will leave this discussion at that lest we get into trouble for veering off topic and cluttering the thread.. If you wish to continue the discussion further, either of us could bump a relevant thread... just read my original post back and it does look like i was having a stab at you, lol. i wasnt, its just my writing style. the opinion on ronaldo and messi is split just about 50/50 going of past discussions and polls on here. and i can personally understand an arguement in favour of either player. anyway on many occasions i have quickly glanced at comments shortly after a lionel messi performance and they all say the same thing. i think he is over analyzed to the point where if he doesnt score a hat trick he gets picked apart from people who just cant wait to have a go. lionel messi's ratio of underwhelming performances on every level of football is no different to that of ronaldo's or torres or rooney etc, but no one ever rushes out to say that those playersd perhaps arent quite what they made them out to be. i mean, where was everyone after the England - USA game to say that that was a Typical Rooney performance in an england shirt? he did nothing against a very organised defense as is usually the case?. now i dont agree with that comment because there are far more elements to the equation as to why a particualr superstar didnt perform or live up to thier respected hype. i see elements of rose tinted spectacles on occasions when it comes to our ( man utd's ) current or past players from some and i try to be more realistic about it. my response to your original post was unfair, i singled you out of not thinking for yourself and for that i apologise, it wasnt intended. just sort of post that made me say something about it. to be honest i didnt even look at who posted it, just read the comment and responded. happy to discuss this further, we arent in the wrong place i dont think necessarily, its all linked to world cup chat i think??

Maybe because its better than singing songs about Gerrard being 'big and fuckin hard'. I'd never sing for anyone except someone who plays for United so blowing a horn would be much better!

This Germany side is looking every bit very convincing. Makes me wonder why England haven´t produced a lot of new blood between the last WC and this? Germany have a very good combination of youthful energy and more experienced work horses. It´s 20mins in, I know, but this is by far the most commanding of performances in this years tournament, so far at least!

Ok. This might be more than you englishmen will bear to watch! Just like England they went ahead early, but didn´t lose possession an start dropping deep. That´s a proper 4-5-1 for you!

They did. They should play 4-5-1 like that. That´s what I meant. Australia is like watching Finland: old, full of ok defenders and a good keeper.

That Özil dude is sure looking like the real deal, apart from that dive! Didn´t have the guts to go down there ´cause of the booking but that could´ve been a penalty right there.

Yeh same, Germans are looking pretty slick, probably the best so far. Ozil has had some class touches.
