Domenech is doing a spectacularly bad job. You look at that France team on paper on there are some serious players there. And then thay play like they have met each other for the first time in hte car park outside the ground. He has been doing so for years now, but since he will be replaced by Blanc, I don't think it will matter to him if France don't qualify. Of course, it will be a bonus should they win the World Cup. That will never happen though. Should France win the world cup, then we would have to seriously question the standards of International football as a whole. |

Loads of empty seats today for the Greece - S. Korea game. And Park is captain. Thats 2 of our players as captain so far.
EDIT: anyone else not recognise Park at first? Hes had a haircut!!

Loads of empty seats today for the Greece - S. Korea game. And Park is captain. Thats 2 of our players as captain so far. EDIT: anyone else not recognise Park at first? Hes had a haircut!! I didn't recognise Parky at first!! He looks strange with his new haircut!!!! And you are right, Parky, Paddy captains of their respective teams. Shame that Rio got injured....  |

South Korea are really fast and tenacious, with some intelligent moves, they're really good to watch I think.
I'd back em to do well and I wouldn't put em past beating the Argies.
On the topic of South Korea, there's so many Parks. Parks parks wherever you may be.

Oooo Park Chong Yong should have buried that header, he headed it in the right direction as regards the corner, but the height was way off. Great cross. Come on South Korea!

Greece are woeful - the only european team to qualify for a world cup and still not score a goal! Yes, Park is indeed their surname a la Smith or Jones. I think the reason why South Korea are up there is because their level of fitness is better than what it was. I would go so far as to say that they are fitter than the Japan team. Having a certain level of fitness makes the game a great deal easier. They will beat Nigeria, that is for sure, but probably not Argentina, but at least that guarantees them 2nd place and qualification. And yes, why are Greece there, why couldn't they have been replaced by the Republic of Ireland instead?? |

If Greece scored from Gekas' half assed overhead kick it would have been as great an injustice as OJ Simpson getting off scott free. Theyre soooo shite. Their long ball game expired around summer '04. Fucks sake SET thats some stat, their frontman does play for Celtic though. Greece came through the play-offs didn't they? Can't remember  It just said there that Kim Yung Wo is in the army, or decided to join the army team to complete his national service or something, I don't know how it works. |

Anyway, the french commentators have been banging on about Djibril Cissés scoring record in Greece and how he was top scorer in the league. It is easy to see why, the Greek league is worse than the championship.
Edit: I think that is the reason why Cissé hasn't played for France in the friendlies or the world cup.

Yeah Wythenshawe it would be way better if teams like Greece could be replaced by Ireland, looking throgh Ireland's world cup footage from 02 on youtube theres loadsa fans in Celtic tops and there's always flags like 'Kilkenny Bhoys' or something, FUCK OFF CELTIC. Nearly all of em are the sort of 'Ah jaysuss howaya' Dubs anyway, I'd rather United any day of the week. Ireland were always entertaining at the WC though, even if it was the get out of jail kind of stuff, Spain raped Ireland in this one for the most part.
Ireland were woeful in that shootout, mind you Spain were poor too.

yeah, not surprising so, altho the french cant be picky after last night....anyone would be better than what they have. In fairness tho, the Championship is better than quite a few countries top divisions i think.
All the Korean players are industrious. Park is an unsung hero(no pun intended) at times for us as he just gets his head down and plays,even tho he isnt a world class player, and doesnt moan when he is left out.
