Yeah, they have had a good bit of possession, but they have hardly impressed. If Nigeria had a couple better players upfront they might have equalised

Watching the match here and to be honest, after they scored, the Argentinians are playing defensively rather than going for the juggler. Should the Argentinians ever go against Spain, it is going to end up in tears for Messi and Co. Nigeria at the moment are out of their depth, but just like every team in the world cup, they have only 1-2 real chances and this is where they have to score.

Just going sideways around the Nigeria box when the Argies attack it seems, if Nigeria were to close down more and put em under real pressure then the game would be a much better spectacle. Only just started watching at the start of the second half. Havent seen Nigeria attack yet so can't comment on that.

Gabriel freaking Heinze! I don´t rate him much. Classless cunt. I´m not too convinced with this Di Maria-dude. Everybody seems to want him here, but he´s been bit quiet. Don´t you think?

He may have played for us, but was never in the same class as Irwin or Paddy Evra. If Heinze hadn't scored, this would have been a 0-0 all over.

He´s demeanor is unacceptable just like Mascherano. Whinying cunts both of them...wanting to move to Liverpool, first playing for PSV and now Marseille, Real Madrid. I used to like him first but then he blew it. Just like he´s done with every clubs evry supporter and teammate through his career.

THis performance typifies the Bargies under Maradona. negative playing for the majority. Hardly going to set the world alight, and as Wythenshawe said, when they come up against a proper attacking team like Spain they are going to get destroyed. If Nigeria had a couple better players up front, they would be winning by now

Since Veron is playing I was wondering what might have been if Scholesy would have gone there too? That would have been great. I think England are going to lose tonight.

If Nigeria had a couple better players up front, they would be winning by now Let me see, Spain with Xavi, Iniesta, Ramos, Puyol, Pique, Torres, Silva and Villa are superior to Argentina in every position and I can only see vicious tackling from the Argies. Italy have some decent players, not great, but decent, and should they score against the Argies, then it is night night as we have already seen an average Inter Milan side keep Messi and co quiet. England could, as Gutierrez is a liability against pace, and I think Cashley could do him many times. Brazil will destroy Argentina as they did in qualifying. So, to sum it all up, Argentina have Messi, but that is it.

agree with you totally. Higuain has been poor, tevez has been poor. The whole team has been poor so far. Maradona made some mistakes in picking his squad by leaving out certain players who would have made a big difference out there today.

I think the obvious problem is their "manager" but that´s almost common knowledge by now. If they score around three to four goals in a game they have a chance, but not like this. The only goal from a defender in a set piece. Hell, the South Koreans might surprise them if they get cocky.

Miss after miss, after miss..... There was an interview in Finnish tv during the half time. Dani Alves said "that Messi is not the same with Argentine. He is so much better with us (Barca)." Seems to be true. This Argie midfield is not Xavi and Iniesta quality. They don´t get close enough to Messi or the other attackers. Poor tactics really. There´s too much of a gap between the midfielders and the attack and the back three is almost too passive going forward. Diego is not genius when it comes to tactics. He´s a cheat, that´s what he is.

Whether it is the managers fault or not, they have enough quality in the "greatest player in modern football", to cause problems. Thing is, its like the England team, we have Rooney and 22 others who don't have the same level. I, too see the South Koreans creating some problems for Argentina, and should South Korea lose, it wouldn't be for the want for trying.

That´s it then 2 and a half hours...oh what to do?
Hope England play with Crouch up front with Rooney and that Milner is fit to start. I can see USA creating some problems for you. Might be close.

Watched both games today, Just what has Park done to his hair, good goal mind. Greece put in a terrible performance. In the other match Nigeria where lucky for it to only be 1-0 and Higuan should have scored twice.
