Fair play to Dustin. Very clever fight from him, ruined McGregors leg with those calf kicks. No defence for them what so ever.
I like McGregor but he needs to get his head back into the sport instead of his pocket or just call it a day.

Dustin is just tough as fuck. Much improved from their first fight.
Think Conor prepared well for the fight by all accounts, so either inactivity has really hurt him or it’s just not there anymore.

Really happy for Dustin. He had a plan and pulled it off perfectly. Neither are the same fighter they were in their first fight. Dustin is significantly better and Conor has lost a step.

I just don't think the motivation is there anymore, much as he tries to deny it. “It’s tough to get out of bed to do roadwork at 5 am when you’ve been sleeping in silk pyjamas.”

Or he never really had it in the first place and was all mouth and hype. There was a massive element of hype, of course there was. But he was still a high level fighter at his best. Nowhere near the greatest and never the best on the planet, but a really good fighter. As you say though, that’s where it ends for me. A lot of really good fighters in and around that weight and he was always in the mix as opposed to ahead of them.

A case can be made for him being overrated, in fact I would say he definitely is overrated and have been saying it from the start, but a case can not be made that he's a chancer getting by on his mouth and hype alone. The names and manors of victory in his win column are enough to put that idea to bed. I would be surprised if we ever see the best version of Conor again, though. A diet of cocaine and 'Proper No.12' is not ideal for MMA.

Hoping that more down to inactivity than his desire. Its definitely not his ability. Hes one of the best strikers in the sport, past or present.

Think the striking could be the telltale sign of him being finished. It’s his strongest attribute but in his last 3 fights he’s been second best in the striking department twice. Khabib won the exchanges on his feet as well as mauling him on the ground and Dustin obviously finished the fight with strikes.

I dont think Khabib is anywhere close to Conor in striking , its just that his ground game is so much better his opponents always has it on the back of their head to defend against takedowns which then affect their stand up game.

I often find myself being reactionary and calling for retirement when an older fighter is on the wrong end of a KO, but Frankie really needs to fucking retire. He's suffered 2 of the most devastating KO's in recent memory over the last couple of years, and it's going to keep on happening. Being a gatekeeper in deep weightclasses full of exciting young talent is a dangerous place to be for an older fighter with Frankie's fighting style.

Say what you want about his style, but Usman is a fucking specimen. He's just so good. He's approaching prime GSP levels for me - I would give anything to be able to see that fight. But I can't believe Burns let Usman off the hook after rocking him in the first. Imagine just laying on your back for half a fucking round giving him time to recover instead of pressuring him...
Love to see Maycee Barber take another L. She bought into her own self appointed hype. There are few things that make me happier than cocky fighters get humbled.
