Ironically his worst fights have often been against interesting opponents, or when the stakes were the highest for him. I dunno, I think if people come to see heavyweight knockouts, he’s delivered those. In addition to his balls being hot, which was funny in the moment. Agreed with Adesanya. I think Jones is a much better all round fighter, but they’ve both sort of gone the way of Mayweather (especially Jones who has emulated Floyd in his treatment of women too). Trouble with Izzy is we’ve seen he’s not the same force in the weight class above, when he doesn’t possess the same physical advantages. So he’ll now be in a constant cycle of fighting and out-pointing the rest of his division. Yes. He's already scheduled to fight Cannonier. While I like Cannonier because of his sensational power, I really don't see him having the ring IQ to beat Adesanya. Paulo Costa has just faded away as well. Yeah, probably a comfortable win for Adesanya again. Whittaker was right that those two are the best in the division. Some good fighters in there, but not at their level.

I'm a big fan of Cannonier, and I'll be rooting for him. I won't be putting any money on him winning, though.

Love Izzy. one of my favourite on the UFC roster. agreed his fights have been far more calculated though. he doesnt need to chase the belts, he has them and a ton of money now. why would he go out gun slinging, risking a loss and even worse a bad injury. mayweather done the same, he looked after his brain first and foremost and i dont blame them. the fight game is a totally different beast and your life is literally at stake when entering the ring. talks of Chimaev wanting to fight him. now that would excite as he is a total animal.
Tai is an entertaining fella. didnt expect that to happen. can take a hell of a shot too! be interesting to see what happens in the Heavyweights now as i cant see Francis fighting again for a while. do they have another interim ? would like to see Tom Aspinal climb near the top and fight lewis/Tai if he gets past Volkov

Not everyone needs to fight like Max Holloway. It’s just aesthetically not brilliant to watch, but he absolutely shouldn’t need to give a shit about that. I would say between him, Jon Jones and Mayweather, the Adesanya fights are the most boring. There was much more skill in Mayweather’s defence and Jon Jones has more strings to his bow than Adesanya in terms of clinch work and grappling. The heavyweights are funny. There’s almost two divisions. One is the top two or three fighters, then there’s a separate one for the lads who look fat and go to war. Tai is the king of the fat lads now.

That was like a death animation when you shoot an enemy with the bullseye archery perk in Skyrim. Amazing how shots like that to the temple can just switch somebody off. It didn't even look all that flush.
Quite the fall from grace for Johnny. It feels like only a few months ago that people were touting him as the person that might unseat Jones. I'm not going to pretend I wasn't one of them. He now looks out of place with a number next to his name. Doesn't look like a challenge for any of the top 10. I guess that also shows how far LHW has come recently. It was one of the shallowest divisions a couple of years ago. It's now pretty stacked. The new batch of Europeans have completely changed the landscape.

That Cachoeira Vs. Ji Yeon Kim decision is one of the worst I've ever seen. No wonder people question the legitimacy and integrity of the judges in MMA. The only 3 people in the world that scored the fight that way just happened to be the 3 people judging the fight...

Well, it looks like Cain Velasquez is in a spot of bother. I absolutely get why he would lose his head in that situation, I think most people would understand, but unfortunately that's not going to absolve him of consequences, and nor should it. Ramming a moving car then firing into it, hitting the wrong person, is just about the worst way to handle the situation.

Not watched the prelims yet, but the main card was pretty dry I thought.
Masvidal talking afterwards about not working hard enough on his wrestling. Colby is taking you down regardless. What he should be disappointed with is his cardio. If the bloke had put some proper work in in the last few years he’d have won that fight. Covington should have been as good as finished after that right hand. Should’ve been easy for a striker like Masvidal at that point, but he was too fatigued to even throw a follow up within the next 30secs.

If it wasn't for that fucking charlatan, Masvidal wouldn't have ever been this big of a draw considering how fucking mediocre he is. That Dagestani stable cannot be beat I think. Literally everyone that comes out of there looks unbeatable.

I think that’s harsh really, Masvidal absolutely capitalised on it and rightly so, but in general he was performing well at that stage of his career and was already riding the wave coming into that fight. He’s played it safe though in a sense since that knee. He beat the fuck out of Nate and then lost to undeniably the two top guys in the division. Not sure where he goes from here, but he needs to actually put some graft in and then take a fight with someone outside of a top two fighter, ideally someone who isn’t a standout wrestler. Like him or not, he was always known for having a big gas tank and he was dead on his feet after one round last night.

He became a meme with the "3 piece and a soda" quote after getting into that backstage fight with Leon Edwards. Then the Askren thing happened just a few months later at just the right time to capitalise. Then there was the BMF nonsense a few months after that. It was all a perfect storm of obnoxiousness that somehow turned a gatekeeper into a star. It was such a strange timeline.
