I'm fucking delighted for Nate, I didn't think he could do it. Hopefully McGregor will wind himself in a bit now, because I want to be able to get behind him, but I just can't because he's such a twat. I almost spat out my coffee when he said he was humble in victory and in defeat after the fight. He's the least humble fucker on the planet when he wins. Glad to see him taken down a peg.
Happy for Miesha as well. I'm surprised by how many people think her win was a big upset.

He's a crowd pleaser and a fighter that draws in the money more than any other fighter, he can pretty much do as he likes. Gutted he lost. But he's still a great fighter, just needs to realsie that he doesn't need to have all his eggs in one basket all at once. I've stayed schtum until now but I'm just going to say it. McGregor is a fraud. Showboating wanker who is all talk and can't back it up when put against a real opponent. All these fights he has won quickly or impressively have been against short notice replacements when the genuine fighters 'dropped out'. Delighted he lost. Hope it was crushing. C'mon now, Aldo had been undefeated for 10 years and had never been rocked like that. Conor's problem in that fight was he looked knackered at the start of the round and didn't bother putting his damn hands up at all

To describe Mc Gregor as a fraud after taking out Aldo is crazy. He's a mouth, he's cocky as fuck but not a fraud. He was bloody stupid to move up so drastically, which is probably a symptom of that arrogance but he's killed it at his normal weight.
Does anyone know why he didn't just go up to the next weight? I'm presuming it's similar to boxing? 25 pounds seems like a huge leap to me.

You can hate the man, hate his style. Hate how he promotes his fights. But you cannot deny he is legit.
Every one of his critics thought he was just a big mouth, they said he wouldn't be Poirier. A few less of them said he wouldn't beat Siver. A lot less of them said maybe if Mendes had a full 12 week camp maybe McGregor wouldn't have won. Then he knocked out the best Featherweight maybe ever. In 13 seconds. After that they all stopped doubting him. Most folk had him as favourite vs RDA and rightly so.
He believed he could go up 2 stones. Fair play to him for trying. He was just too small and it is a shame as it was the hottest ticket in town and a fun ride.

I'm not a fan of McGregor at all, but I do accept that he's the real deal - at Featheweight. But he still needs to beat Aldo in a rematch and Frankie Edgar before he can claim to be dominant in the division. But I really think he'll struggle a Lightweight. On last nights showing it's hard to see him getting anywhere near dos Anjos or Nurmagomedov, and he'll have his hands full with anyone else in the top 10. And he'll get murdered at Welterweight, which was rumoured to be his next stop. Most of the top 15 would walk through him, certainly the top 7-8.

Dos Anjos will not lose the mind war if the superfight happens again. Everyone will look at the Diaz result as heartening

From what i've heard connor usually walks about at around 170 but cuts HARD before the fight, It's not in the realms of impossibility to lose 10 to 15 lbs the day before the fight. He needs a bit of stamina increase as in the second he had started blowing - it's one thing to walk about at 170 but its another to sustain that in a fight. He said in the presser after the fight that he'll go back down and defend his feather weight belt, it should be aldo really I'm no MMA expert by any stretch btw, I'm a watch it occasionally kind of fan but i have followed the sport since before the ultimate fighter season 1.

Every great fighter needs a loss. If you don't have a loss it just leads to questions about the opposition. It's not how you lose it's how you respond to it. Tyson & Ali had near identical careers, both were even removed from the sport for 3 years in their prime. Ali responded better, he's easily the greater champ.
Not sure what to make of the weight issue. McGregor is clearly too big for his weight class. He aimed to jump one, ended up jumping two, It's a hard adjustment but he wasn't fighting the best & he is apparently the same weight as Diaz normally. He obviously has most his fights with a strength & reach advantage.

I hope he fights Aldo again at UFC 200 . That would be a test. Especially after Aldo called him out last night.

Dana White must be on the verge of suicide. First Ronda loses to Holm, then Paige VanZant and Sage Northcutt get found out, then CM Punk has to have surgery, then Holm loses to Tate fucking up the Ronda re-match, then McGregor gets humbled in a fight he should have won. All his golden children/cash cows are falling like dominoes. And with 200 just a few months away.
