The Pats likely thought they could get the ball back in hand before the last 57 seconds, but Manning is so good at digging out the 1st's in those situations that eventually they just had to let them through for the score. But then they had to balance it by not opening easy too early and letting the Giants stop half a yard from the goal-line and getting the 3 points.

In my beloved Broncos first Superbowl win something similar happened. The Packers allowed Terrill Davis to score on a first and goal without laying a finger on him in the belief they were better off saving time. Broncos defence saw this on the sideline, got together and vowed to make them pay for their arrogance...

I'm a Lions fan, way back to the Barry Sanders days. Hopefully we can reach the playoffs again this season.

YES! Pats fan. I'd been to Boston and Cape Cod as a kid so when I started getting into NFL I followed their 2004 season. Of course they ended up winning the Superbowl and that was that.
Enjoy all the NFL though, it's awesome.

My wife's ex boyfriend played American football. So I suppose I am obliged to hate the sport.
Oh, and it's not football. So there.

New Orleans Saints. WHO DAT baby
Worked as a beer vendor at the Louisiana Superdome for a game. Loved the atmosphere. That city breathes 'American' football. Felt great to be among such passionate fans.

Green Bay Packers
I started to watch the sport about ten years ago. I liked the Packers because there are some similarities between them and the United. Their ownership is similar than the United's was then and the supporters can be owners too, they have great history and they are tough sob-s from the snowy north.

Please don't get into that debate here. It's a bullshit one, and the people who say that one is tougher than the other just don't get it.
