American Rugby is for people that have a whole day spare to sit about and see 10 seconds of play and then mins of non-play

Please don't get into that debate here. It's a bullshit one, and the people who say that one is tougher than the other just don't get it. I played rugby and it's a tough sport. But I worked stadium security on an NFL game and got to go down pitch side. Sweet Jesus the hits were off the charts. And the reason they introduced helmets was due to the large amount of deaths in college football! Broncos and Seahawks are comfortably the 2 strongest sides but anything can happen over the coming weeks. Injuries really hit hard in this sport.

All thanks to my old gran, who back in the 80's bought me and my bro a couple of jumpers with American Football team's logo's on them. I got the Seahawks, who've never won the superbowl, were utter shit then, continued to be utter shit for the next couple of decades and only recently became any good. My bro got the Bears, who were the current superbowl champions and one of the best teams in that decade. Thanks gran.

Anyone going to any of the games at Wembley? I'm off to the Jags - 49ers game next month, went a couple of years ago as well. Enjoyable atmosphere without all the negative antagonism that you get with football.

I'm a Giants "fan/supporter" so this season was a disappointment - but I have to say I really like Seahawks, they showed good promise last season and I hope they go all the way this year. Glad the cowboys are out, there shouldn't be any real reason but I can't stand them (along with patriots).
Also some idiot canned ESPN America here so I haven't been able to watch college football this season and I will have to watch streams of NFL postseason on the internet - so freaking annoying!

Yep, and it's bowl season in college now too. I follow espn on twitter and apparently there have been some incredible matches.

How did you get into it Stew? I don't see the fascination at all.
Is it bigger in Ireland than in England?

How did you get into it Stew? I don't see the fascination at all. Is it bigger in Ireland than in England? It got a big push on channel 4 in the 80s Traff, when I was a teenager. I was also playing rugby at the time and the similarities were there. Just got into it then and kept at it. Also played the Madden console games. Been a Broncos fan since the start, Elway was an amazing player and was one of my favourite sporting moments to see him finally win 2 Super Bowls before he retired. It's also been interesting and worrying to see how quickly the Broncos, who were perrenial challengers, fell to embarassing levels by appointing the wrong coach. It's only in the last few years we're back at the top.
