I was living in Naas in the ROI watching united v chelski and stood out in the garden having a fag when that twat Terry strode up and adjusted his captains armband you could tell the cunt was dying to score and fuck me how unbearable would that have been we all know what happened and I screamed out loud yes you fucking plastic twat at the top of my voice as he landed on his arse with Edwin screaming at him. The next minute or so is a blur as GIGGS buried his peno and VDS saved Anelkas I ran around the house like a poxy loon waking littlun up in the process.Needless to say the misses wasn't to happy. But fuck me what a night

Whatever happened to Macheda?
Ah Federico.
I remember his goal well. We'd recently moved into a new place, and were on the bones of our arses at the time. I couldn't work due to visa issue's, only had my girlfriends wage to live on, and as she was temping that wasn't much.
Couldn't really afford to go out, but I managed to get enough pennies together to go down the local pub to watch it. Was on about 1 in the morning or whatever, and I'm stood on my own watching this game, trying to nurse a pint to last as long as possible. 2-1 down wishing I'd just saved my bloody money and gone to bed.
Ronaldo equalizes and I'm inwardly screaming for a winner. On comes this kid I'd just been reading about on this very website. 17 year old who has been banging them in in the reserves. I'm not expecting anything from him, looking at Ronaldo to bag the winner (naturally). Balls played in, he turns beautifully on it, and curls it into the corner as he's falling over. What a fucking finish, and what a fucking story.
God I wished at the time I had available funds to buy more drink.

I will have been here for 30 years come March. For many of the earlier years I got my United fix through my membership of the NSW MUFC Supporters club, run by a fabulous ex-pat called Fred (the Red) and his wife, Anne.
We met monthly and the highlight of the night was watching a video of a recent game sent to us directly from OT. For years the only live games we got to see were FA Cup finals (luckily we were regularly in those as the years progressed).
IMO the supporters club heyday came in 1999 when the CL final was shown live on free to air down here. Fred booked the function room at St George Leagues club and arranged for the game to be shown on the big screen. We had Les Murray (famous football advocate and show host) conduct his SBS match coverage from the venue, the atmosphere was electric with 500 tickets sold. Fred had even arranged for the restaurant to do "full English" brekkies (bearing in mind the game kicked off at about 5 a.m!)
What a morning, it was as close as we could get to feeling directly involved and the singing was loud and proud throughout. Afterwards the bars were overflowing with inebriated, deliriously happy United fans for a fair portion of the day.
Sadly the supporters club went downhill after that as the internet started to provide the news we craved and more games were made available live through various channels. Fred and Anne eventually pulled up stumps and returned to Manchester. I still have a few of my club t-shirts (we got a different coloured one for each annual subscription) and occasionally bump into a couple of the members.
Happy days!

We have lots of mature reds over here. Maybe you could share your stories as well, this thread is brilliant.

That first game with the two goals from Gigg's against Southampton was my first ever Old Trafford game. Talk about picking your moments.
