It's tonight it starts in the USA isn't it? And tommorrow over here?
Edit - No it's clearly not because it's the 15th and evidently I massively fail at keeping track of what time of year it is.

I've had a fascination with zombies, outbreaks and the likes since I was 10, maybe 11, which looking back nearly 15 years later is a little concerning, especially at that age. I blame the Playstation and Capcom. you must be talking resident evil me and bro have been playing through resi 1 on the gamecube, they sexed it up a bit from the original PS version. great stuff it is

Currently blasting through Resident Evil on the Playstation (and Dino Crisis) myself. Even with its triangular graphics and terrible dialogue it still ranks as one of my favourite games and doesn't fail to make me jump. Classic game. The only Resident Evil I played on the GameCube was Code Veronica X.

Somewhat less excited about this season now they bumped it up to 13 episodes and sacked the Showrunner half way through filming.

I can understand people's concern. The shoes of Darabont will be hard to fill. Darabont does well at taking another's creation and portraying it on film (Shawshank, Green Mile, and let us not forget The Walking Dead too) but people often forget he was also the writer of less attractive pieces such as The Blob and has at times credited himself in titles only to then publicly deny any or much involvement. There is question on how much involvement he had on all six episodes last season too. If anybody is to blame though for his disappearance then the network have to hold their hands up. Darabont seemingly couldn't cope with the pressures of fast paced television work compared to film and less of a kitty to work with. He apparently wanted to get rid of most of the writing crew etc and hire freelance workers. All of which eventually twisted the networks arm in to bringing somebody in willing to work with what was offered. Not the best scenario considering the popularity of the first season. Although what might be a helping hand in season 2 is that all 6 episodes of the first season were ordered by AMC based solely off the popularity of the comics. I'm still looking forward though.

7even I absolutely love this show! The mrs and I watch it every sunday without fail. She usually can't stand horror movies and the like, but the story has gripped her and she can't stop watching it now . It's my favorite show next to the Office.

The episodes just aren't long enough. ;D
Bit of a slow build up, but episode 4 got more to it, (quite liked the well part).

It's a slow burner so far. I've been erm, acquiring them from an unnamed source in the States on Monday mornings.
You can definitely tell they're working on a reduced budget and I think some of the acting has been awful so far, particularly with numerous characters bleating on about God for half the episodes and that rather strained and hammed-up exchange between Lori and Rick when arguing over whether it's worth keeping Carl alive.
Nice to see Glenn get some more screen-time and I'd like to hear more about his back story, as well as some of the others like Daryl, T-Dog and Dale. Andrea is getting rather irritating with her constant whining and hissy fits over not having a gun and Carol's character really needs to start growing a spine and also being a bit more grateful to the rest of the group for putting their arses on the line on a regular basis to find her daughter.
I'm definitely enjoying it so far but I don't know, it's all been a little bit cliched and over-dramatic, and the storyline of the lost daughter is really dragging on now and needs to be wrapped up for the storyline's sake. They could be exploring the characters more rather than having them aimlessly wandering around the woods just to give them something to do.
Episode four was definitely an improvement though and it's starting to pick up a little. Shane's gradual evolution into a nutcase is interesting, Glenn's greater involvement is good (as well as his fledgling romance with Maggie) and I'm really starting to like Daryl. I just hope now that Carl is alive and kicking they can get on with things, find the daughter and move onto a more interesting storyline.

I'm not right interested in the development of Glenn and Maggie's relationship. More so Maggie as she seems weird. Glenn's character has gone down hill since Guts and Vatos when, although geeky he had that cheeky, able, loner City life feel to him. And for them to send him to get supplies with Rick labelling him their 'go to town expert', after not much development since then didn't feel believable. Although I do like him. Andrea seems to pick and bicker at everything, and after asking Shane for a way out (not when he finds out about Lori) is clearly in it for herself. I always get an uneasy feeling with T-Dog, as if he has a hidden agenda, but perhaps that just stemmed from when he had blood poisoning and was acting strange. I like Dale, he is the voice of reason.
Save the Last One was the episode that was painfully obvious they have a reduced budget. I thought at times it felt like scenes were being stretched out if only to fill time. Especially Rick giving blood and as you say, Lori's ridiculous 'what is the point' carrying on scene. Which stinks of bullshit now she has her pregnancy test. I also think the cutting to other scenes is cringe worthy. There isn't enough build up/suspension in certain parts and they cut it like it is. And then in other parts it switches rather bluntly as if there was a part missing. Very choppy. Episode Chupacabra will probably be the same though. It appears that it is taking the opportunity to develop the characters more whilst the hunt goes on for Sophia. At what feels like an incredibly slow pace.
Daryl is getting more air time too which is good as like yourself, I like him. I especially liked his scene with Carol and the rose. I'm wondering whether the sudden Daryl interest is because they're bringing Merle back soon.
I'm enjoying it. With 13 episodes this season it can only pick up, especially when they find Sophia. Or will they...
