My laptop is in the shop until further notice. Needed a new keyboard and could only find the part from China. Unclear whether the package has been delayed by Coronavirus or not on the tracking page.
Also counting down the days until Animal Crossing.

Amazing what difference just a couple of levels makes on AC:Odyssey. I had about 8 goes at the Kalydonian Boar at something like level 13, barely even scratched the fucker. Went back at level 16 with improved gear and got him first go. He was a bastard, but I got him.

Honestly found that fucker so hard to kill I think I waited til I was an even higher level than that before going back. Never found anything as hard to kill as the elephants in origins though.

Quicker than aiming a bow but keeps your distance. Close enough to use abilities if you have useful ones.

The Cyclops was quite easy to kill but took a while. First time I tried I got too confident and died when I’d almost killed him. Nearly reverted to my 15 year old self and threw the controller across the room.

Not much of a gamer anymore but honestly, playing Odyssey was one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

Playing Odyssey now. It's so fucking good. The stealth elements have improved vastly from the last AC I played.

AC Odyssey did, basically the perfect game in many respects and it's beautifully animated (especially on ultra graphics!!) Tempted to pull the trigger on AC Origins when it's on sale again - anyone had a go?

It probably took me around 12 tries and only after I watched a youtube about using fire arrows did I get it done in a mammoth 20 minutes session which incrementally took ages (basically focused my character's stats on stacking poison damage, fairly hilarious shredding through most other baddies but got stuck here hard).

Tempted to pull the trigger on AC Origins when it's on sale again - anyone had a go? Similar gameplay, but no choices in dialogue etc and the armour/weapon system is less fleshed out. I personally thought the core story of Origins was better than Odyssey’s. If you like one you should like the other. Worth noting that in a world of microtransactions both these games have two genuine high-quality add-on stories each. I recommend getting both Origins’ DLC’s and both of Odyssey’s too (the latter is two stories but split into 6 parts, the former just two self-contained stories).
