Xbox going off on one and buying Activision is huge. No more COD on PS is a huge blow for Sony. They wouldn't do that. Far too much revenue to be lost. At the max an early release for Xbox owners. Disagree. I don't think they bought it to let it stay on PS. They bought it to hard force everyone who loves COD onto Xbox (and also to prep for the Metaverse). Hopefully Battlefield steps up and takes that vacated space.

Hate both games. I also know people who have had enough of Activisions shit to switch consoles just for one game. Big backfire imo if they make it one console. The metaverse can fuck itself too.

question for the gamers in the forum:
If you are Sony and you are working on the next gen PS, do you give a dev kit for the PS6 to Activision for them to work on the next big IP so that it complements the launch of the PS6, knowing that by doing so you are in effect handing your next generation hardware and software specs to Microsoft?
that was my immediate thought when i heard about the acquisition. corporate espionage will be very interesting in the gaming space very soon.

Your immediate thought was about the ps6? It's been a year since ps5 came out, people in the world can barely get one. 🤣 We will not be anywhere close to a ps6 for at least another 10-12 years.

Five, probably. Damnit, yes. For some reason I had it in my mind that it is a 10 year cycle. I stand corrected. Since it's 7, you're probably right. But if they account for lowered sales in 2 years of the pandemic and the scalping and semiconductor shortage, I guess it may go to 6 or 7. But I stand corrected.

Wasn't correcting, just throwing it out there. Would be surprised if the cycle isn't pushed for the next gen, to be fair, given the circumstances.

Whilst I see your overall point, in spite of the shortages the PS5 is outpacing the PS4 in its first 18 months IIRC.

I just cant see how the need to have the IP's on as many screens as possible (Microsoft/Activision/Blizzard) will square with the desire to keep trade secrets (Sony)

Shit, didn't know about the Korfu questline on Odyssey? I thought the crossover stuff with Valhalla was just taking place within the Valhalla game.

Great 2 weeks of gaming ahead. Horizon 2 and Elden Ring being released within a week of each other.
If only I had a motherfucking PS5 I'd be able to play them.

But also, if I could find a ps5 I'd buy it. I will never pay extra for a scum sucking scalper.

Put on notifications and keep a close eye on them.
