FIFA 12 ON FRIDAY!!!!!!!!! Yeah, too right! Our lass was gonna surprise me with it and get it me for my birthday, but I guessed what it was so she doesn't want to get me it now. Good job. I ain't waiting until 14th October! You can ignore her for a few weeks earlier by getting it this week!

What did you console-types think of LA Noire? It just got a release date for the PC version, I remember it was pretty well hyped but I didnt see any reviews.

(glad i didn't pay the 35-40 quid price on release, paid a score for it pre-owned) it's not the most varied game even for a rockstar release but the story is pretty engrossing

Intrigues the missus too, since it's a semi-movie type of game. Warning though, if you're the sort of person who needs to solve cases perfectly without online hints (aka me), you will be sitting through quite a few replays for some chapters.

Great storyline, inventive game, AMAZING FACES on characters and NPCs. Downsides to it were it being very frustrating when you had to interview someone, not a lot of replay value and no xbox live.

I haven't bought a football game for years. In all honesty I think its because it wound me up that they would bring a new one out every October. Making mine feel obsolete, when a few updates would have been top banana. I was always the Pro Evo over FIFA fan. A mutation of the two would be lovely. Or even if Pro Evo could just pinch the FIFA commentary. Now might be the time to invest in Pro Evo again as I hear this one is the dogs bollocks. Wouldn't mind hearing it first hand though, so if anybody on here does get it. Drop a few lines on how it is.

Anyone been playing the Battlefield 3 beta? I've never been a big online player and I've got pretty much zero experience with online FPS but for some reason I've decided to give this game a go and so far it's quite enjoyable. I'm looking forward to trying different game types as the Rush map of the beta can be a bit unforgiving if you're new to this kind of gaming like me, still at least I'm not completely embarassing myself, would be interesting to play with a team as going it solo isn't the best for BF3 I don't think

Nothing like spawning on a squad mate and immediately being shot in the head >.> I like that it's not all about K/D ratios and you actually have to work towards an objective and try to help each other, I just need to be a bit more intelligent with my general play as I seem to get picked off quite easily atm.

So did the BF3 beta manage to convert some of you CoD players over?
Cant help but feel the map was very much designed to. Its close combat, zero vehicles combat is quite un-battlefield like so it felt as though they were trying to persuade people over, though managed to piss off some of the hardcore BF people too.
I really like it, just needs a bit of polish which it should be getting before release. Fantastic engine, has the best sound effects around and uses the same tech for animations that FIFA does (little factoid for you).
I may give rage a try but its had abit of shakey launch on PC so i may wait a bit.
Good time to be a gamer, so many (potentially) awesome games to come out over the next 5/6 months.
