Then maybe you shouldn't make such bold statements without arming yourself with the facts. Just a thought. It's the return of:

If anything Rodwell looked the one we should get if we're shopping at Goodison Park.

^^^Bestie, bang on. Rodwell has been very good for them this year, maybe we re-ignite our interest?

I'd certainly take him for our midfield. Let's be honest, if we offer Everton real money, they'll have to take it.

Rodwell does look a good prospect. Still think that we could do with someone a bit more experienced. As good as both Cleverley and Rodwell are, that's not a midfield combination to strike fear into the best teams. Yet.

Imagine if we did buy Rodwel, our midfield and forward line up would consist mainly of Brittish players.
Nani - Rodwel - Cleverly - Young
Rooney - Welbeck
Then there's Jones and Smalling in the back, the spine of our team would be brittish. Not a bad thing either.

Yep plus with any luck the likes of Morrison, Will Keane, Tunnicliffe eventually coming through to be (at the very least) valuable members of the squad. We'd be very English. The idea of signing Rodwell is becoming more and more appealing to me.

More-so Rodwell than this Barkley kid. Yet to be convinced and Rodwell seems a much safer bet, not to mention he won't be as much of a prospect for the long term future but much more of a short term solution/option too.

In the reserve match tonight so far Pogba has absoloutely dominated a midfield battle with Barkley. I remember the same happening last year with Pogba vs Mceachran of Chelsea in the youth cup.

Someone stated earlier on this forum that we don't need hot new future prospects, we need an immidiate World Class midfielder, sure we can buy youngsters, but we need to improve midfield as soon as possible.

Rodwell would be an immediate improvement on our midfield.
