VDV plays in Rooneys posistion though and he doesnt track back enough to be trusted in any other position, ask Harry Redknapp, he had to change to 1 up top to accomodate the lazy shite.
Silva would have been a perfect fit for us, there were doubts that he could cope with the physical nature of the prem but he has put that to bed.I would have loved us to sign Sahin or Ozil.

Is Sahin even getting a game for Madrid? Without really knowing much of anything about Barkley, except that he's supposed to be good, I'm hoping we end up getting him just because it's getting frustrating watching our talentless midfield stutter along when the likes of Sahin, Khedira, Ozil (probably Kagawa as well) go elsewhere for peanuts and we aren't even interested.

Forgot about Sahin. Has he even played a game for Madrid?

Real Madrid ruin another career.
And on the question of our midfield, Barkley has done nothing to suggest he's even in Tom Cleverley's league, let alone better than him.

Yep, and Canales has been shipped out on loan to Valencia. Not a terrible place to develop mind, but he's not getting game or likely to get games for Madrid anytime soon. It's heartbreaking to see Sahin over there when we could have made a bid.
I'm sure by this point that Barkley or any other midfield signing other than Sneijder or Modric would be in addition to rather in place of Cleverley.

Real Madrid ruin another career. sahin needs to take some of the blame. another kid who's blown his wad on the big move that's comes too early for him. i know i've got no idea what it's like to be in a pro-footballers situation but i'd like to think i'd be smarter than to sign for someone like madrid, city or chelsea back in the day when there's little chance of playing.

I wasn't saying we shouldn't sign Barkley, I was responding to whiteknight insinuating that we don't have any quality in our midfield.
Barkey is 17 years of age, so it's more about potential, but for his sake he's better off staying at Everton for at least the next couple of years.

I think Sahin was injured for a while and that was the reason he hasn't played much. Anyway he really messed up by joining Real with all the players they have in midfield - but it must be difficult to turn down the money and glamour that comes with playing for them, especially when you are young....

Sahin ain't no kid. I'd take Barkley. He's only going to get better.

Sahin has had a knee injury in pre-season which has had complications/set backs. Should be fit soon, maybe, don't think they want to rush him. Anyway, i dont think it fair to play the madrid ruin career card, he's just injured!

Clearly I didn't know he was injured, or I wouldn't have said it.

Then maybe you shouldn't make such bold statements without arming yourself with the facts.
Just a thought.
