Do you think we're interested? I like him as as player I must say.

I don't know. I've never been to impressed by him, when I've watched him TBH. He ticks all the boxes though. He's a midfielder, young, huge potential, sell-on value too.

IF we went for him or Moutinho, we'd be looking at an incredibly tippy tappy possesion based team. He's intelligent enough to fit in at United I suppose. Don't think Ajax would let him go easily and we don't seem to want to go over £20million for anyone other than Modric

Ajax will let him go as they need to balance the books and since the Player himslef prefers a move to our club(allegedly) , if we did bid and the player says he wants the move then we have a upper hand (finally after a long time TBH). Highlights of a match aren't that much but seen all Ajax match highlights ever since we were linked with him(lucky), he does have some very good football and i'd happily take him. As that bit of maturity about him and a Footballing Brain. And as tatty says he ticks all the boxes we usually see .

Not for the price quoted, in the games against us and the games at the Euro's he just doesn't look much like the hype has made him out to be. Would prefer Moutinho but would also prefer Moura over both.

Would prefer Eriksen over not signing anyone, which is the worst case scenario.
Has got a lot of talent and looked pretty good in the Euros, he's only just turned 20 after all and not all 20 year old midfielders set the world alight at that age. He'll be a fantastic player, there's no doubt in my mind. Also, he looked more than decent against us.
Last season: 9 Goals; 22 Assists
10/11: 10 Goals; 20 Assists
Would be welcome injection of talent, youth and creativity into the squad as I'm beginning to think we're not remotely in the market for that midfield hardman/box to box player we're all waiting for. We'll likely go a more ball retention orientated, quick passing route and see if Tunni, Jones can fill the destroyer role when necessary. I'd be all over this for 20 mil - bags of potential.

Plus he did this to City:
Agent: Eriksen rejected City offer
Ajax star Christian Eriksen has turned down the chance to join Manchester City, according to his agent.
The classy Denmark playmaker is said to have been the subject of a 'concrete proposal' from the Premier League club.
But the 19-year-old, who has been linked with several clubs around Europe, rejected a potential move to England in order to continue his development at Ajax.
"It is true that we have a concrete proposal from Manchester City, about which Eriksen is proud and honoured," Eriksen's representative, Martin Schoot, told Bold.dk.
"We talk about the world's richest club, so that they are interested is something Christian regards as an honour.
"But Christian said a polite, 'no thanks', because he did not feel it would be the best move for his career at this time.
"It also says a little about Christian as a person. It is clear that money does not mean the most to him."

that and the fact he checked with Ajax if the other club was Man Utd who had inquired for him.
But as always he is interested in either us or barca only. Still its nice that there are still players who want to move to a club with history rather than money and still care about their game.

If it's true he wants to play for United, regardless of the stupid money lesser teams would throw at him, I say get him anyway, regardless of whether we don't need him or whatever else.
Love players with that attitude, you can't have too many players at the club playing for the badge on their heart instead of the money in their bank account.

well i hope Gill of SAF or someone thinks the same and gets this guy, he'd fit in well with us IMO.
That said with everything going very qute and SAF saying that we are looking at LB, can't help but think Baines(IF) may be the only one coming in.

Well he's said he wants to stay at Ajax for now, which tells me the clubs who were in for him were a load of guff. So we've not been in for him.

Ajax director of football Marc Overmars has revealed that in-demand midfielder Christian Eriksen has informed the club that he does not want to sign a new contract at the present time. Eriksen’s current deal at the Amsterdam ArenA expires in the summer of 2014, meaning it will have just one more year left to run by the end of this season; a situation that could compel Ajax to sell the 20-year-old if he refuses to pen an extension. Overmars believes that Eriksen and his agent are waiting to see what offers present themselves, and this summer is the most likely time of departure for the Denmark international, who has stated he will not leave Ajax without the Dutch club pocketing a fee for his services. And he may not be short of options, with Manchester United and Liverpool just two of Eriksen’s confirmed suitors. "Christian has informed us that he does not want to sign a new contract right now", Overmars told Danish daily BT. "I think he and his agent want to see what opportunities present themselves this summer", he added. Eriksen is currently concentrating on trying to help Ajax retain their Eredivisie title, while the club are also still involved in the Europa League. It remains to be seen just where Eriksen might head if he leaves Ajax, but all the ingredients are there for a summer transfer scramble. www.insidefutbol.com/2013/02/10/hes-told-us-he-doesnt-want-to-sign-new-contract-now-marc-overmars-on-liverpool-and-manchester-united-target-christian-eriksen/79078/Eriksen said he would only leave Ajax for Barca or ourselves, he could be a tidy addition to the side at a decent price with only 12 months left on his deal in June.
