Does anyone else find it amusing that we all crave a midfielder but as soon as anyone is suggested it "Nah, too old, not Utd quality, won't rteally give us anything different etc..."
HAVE YOU SEEN OUR MIDFIELD RECENTLY? I"D OFFER US SOMETHING DIFFERENT!!!
Sorry, needed to get that off my chest.

We do have to be selective, but at what point does being overly selective end up with us not getting anyone? Wait. . . Oh.

I would just be wary of paying a big fee and him being unable to adjust to the PL, so a loan to buy would be wonderfull and a certain no-brainer. It looks like he has lost that extra burst of lightening acceleration that used to set him apart, though he would still be our quickest CM by a distance.

On a loan deal I'd be interested, but its not exactly realistic. I can't remember exactly what Fergie has said about Madrid/Calderon, something akin to he wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire (ok slight exaggeration), but I get the impression he doesn't deal with Madrid unless he has too.
Beyond that, we don't really want to spend money on him unless it ends up being a decent marketing thing. He has been his brilliant best for some time and even then Im not sure I see a fit. Save the money for someone who really fits.

Kaka was a world class footballer but those days are gone, he's lost that burst of pace he had when he made a mess of us in 2007. We need a ball playing midfielder who can run a game, we have goals in this team.

We sign Kaka, turns out his legs have gone, he can't get over the injuries and he can't adjust to English football. Meanwhile, in the 2 years that we persevere with him, we see Gotze and Hazard end up at Barca, and Arsenal, and play superb football, but we couldn't even try for them because all our money (a 20 million pound fee and 250 thousand a week) has gone on Kaka. Yes, there is a risk in signing those players as well, there's a risk in signing any player, at any time in their career, but there is rather a large difference between signing a 21 year old who's been lighting up his domestic league for 2 years, and is on the radar of every top club in Europe; and signing a 30 year old who has had major injury problems, hasn't played well for the same 2 years that the young guns have been shining for, and will cost the club a fortune. No question a fit and on form Kaka would transform our midfield, he was a magical player, but it should be a question of Kaka or no one else if we end up with Kaka. If there is any other talented midfielder around who would be less of a risk then him, then we should be going for them. Edit it doesn't have to be Gotze by the way, I'm certain he's not the only very talented available young midfielder around, who would be interested in joining Manchester United, he's just the best I can think of at the moment.

Its only a loan,If they are not going to make a real move.If healthy he is or was world class at least bring him on.We might have to rent another striker too with all these injuries or it wont matter we will be knocked out of everything but the league title.

For the record, if it's either Kaka or Goetze, I'm with the German lad all the way.

both for me. don't wanna go all broken record but if we sign a player like gotze you'll need to give him 2 or 3 years before he starts delivering.
