Well that's a huge relief! I hope that he can now just focus on playing, as it seemed the protracted contract talks were getting to him. An in form De Gea with our improved back 4 puts us in very very good shape to get top 4.

Assuming that this is indeed true, I really hope David demanded some assurances about the direction the club is taking before he effectively tied himself down to the club for the remainder of his prime footballing years. My thoughts exactly. Despite a recent dip, the harsh reality is that right now Dave is too good for us. So hopefully as you say, he must have been given an insight into where we are going. Because otherwise he was mental to want to stay as things are. |

Super chuffed with this news. The longer it went on the more worried I was getting.
I hope this means he see's potential in the squad and as others have said, hope there had been assurance's from those above.

What's great about De Gea signing is that he's a leader and a viable connection to the last title winning team. You can see a leadership group emerging in the next few years consisting of him, Maguire, McTominay, Vic and Shaw.

Looks like 350k or 375k per week but I believe that includes the bonuses. I reckon itll be money well spent
