The press said that in July. I'll believe it when I see it, particularly as this could easily just be an Ed briefing against the (not necessarily reliable) reports this week that he isn't close to signing and is eyeing up Juve. |

Assuming that this is indeed true, I really hope David demanded some assurances about the direction the club is taking before he effectively tied himself down to the club for the remainder of his prime footballing years.

Maybe the distraction of the contract situation was hindering his form. Hopefully, if the contract has indeed been signed, we will get the old Dave back! Great news.
