There is optimism and then there is blissful ignorance.

Thinking about it, his extraordinary shot stopping and reflexes should come as no surprise. DDG trained with and against the likes of Falcao, Aguero and Forlan after all.. I was actually thinking yesterday that was the reason our forwards go through slumps - they are up against Shaggy in training every day - must be hard for them

Jones: De Gea is "terrific to work with"
Manchester United defender Phil Jones believes the secret behind David De Gea's recent performances is his work ethic, strength of character and determination to take his game to the next level, citing the Spaniard as "terrific to work with".
Wayne Rooney also described De Gea as "the best keeper in the world" after he turned in yet another eye-catching goalkeeping display against Liverpool on Sunday, and Jones has no hesitation in echoing the comments from the club's captain.www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2014/Dec/Phil-Jones-and-Wayne-Rooney-salute-David-De-Gea.aspx

De Gea on De Gea
"No matter how excellent your form is, you can always get better and there are always aspects of your game that you can improve. You can improve everything. No matter how well people think you are playing, or how well you think you are playing yourself, it is always a case of working on every facet of your game. There is hopefully more to come."
30/12/2014 10:04, Report by Mark Froggatt De Gea: I was like Captain America in a year ManUtd.com sat down with David De Gea to discuss his impressive development since joining the Reds in the summer of 2011... Which area of your game has improved most since you joined United? I have been here for four years now and I think that every aspect of my goalkeeping has improved. It is hard to single out one area because we have worked and improved on everything...............www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Exclusive-Interviews/2014/Dec/David-De-Gea-discusses-his-development-on-and-off-the-pitch.aspx

08/01/2015 18:00, Report by Ben Hibbs & Mark Froggatt Valdes: De Gea is the world's best goalkeeper Manchester United's new no.2 goalkeeper Victor Valdes admits his team-mate and fellow countryman David De Gea – the club's first-choice shot-stopper – is "the best in the world." The 32-year-old new arrival has been training with the Reds since October, working closely with his young compatriot, and he's been greatly impressed by De Gea in the daily sessions as well as in matches. "I think now, in the moment, David is the best goalkeeper in the world," Valdes told MUTV. "His performance every day and in every game shows everybody that his level is very high. He has had a great year and it is very nice. Now, I think he is the best goalkeeper in the world......"www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2015/Jan/Victor-Valdes-says-David-De-Gea-is-the-best-goalkeeper-in-the-world.aspx

Seemingly Real have been in contact with his representatives. BBC news. No. Do it properly before sending everyone into a tail-spin. That's from BBC's gossip column. It's taken from a story in the Mirror, which itself was taken from a story from yesterday's AS. That's Real's mouth-piece.

But a BBC report carries weight so people would have reacted.

Part of SSNs coverage of LvG's press conference was about Super Dave's contract, they did a montage of his saves. We know he has been good this season, but my God it is when you see them together, it is breathtaking.
