In agreement with Stew. Until anything is confirmed it's Real Madrid I take issue with. Their antics when chasing a player are genuinely despicable.

I think we should hold off on throwing shit at him, for now. Once it's confirmed I'll be at the head of the queue but let's see. I honestly expect him to leave though. Have done for months. Have too agree with that. We don't know what's happening yet. Could just be tabloid bullshit. I was pissed off when Ronaldo left for RM and even when Ruud ended up there but we just moved on. One man does not make a team.

You know what, real can fuck off with their €30m offer. LvG should tell de Gea hat whether he signs the contract renewal or not, he ain't going to Madrid. He can run down his contract and sit on the bench for all I care. But we should never sell him to Madrid. It's just plain stupid from de Gea. If he wants to leave, fair enough. But his making some mistakes. If he has not seen what treatment has been meted out to the club legend Casillas and the treatment to a player who scored crucial goals last season (bale) he must be selectively blind. And if he thinks he can win over the mob, he is truly deluded. And what about the promise to athletico fans? "Some day I will be back". He is burning his bridges not only here but also with his previous club. It would have been better had he just announced that he won't renew. This silence is just so ill-advised. I really admire Dortmund who are nowhere near us financially but still kept lewandowski till his contract. Alright, they could have easily got 20-25m for a striker of his quality albeit in his final year but still they didn't give in to bayern. 30m euros? Real can keep that and buy a replica trophy with that given that they are trophy-less this year. If they offer Isco/varane then maybe we can think. And to Moyes, he offered a contract to Nani and Rooney. Why the fuck didn't he offer to de Gea?

Regardless of where DDG ends up, when summer is over United is going to be a better team than they were before. If DDG is smart enough to see the direction United is going and stays, that is excellent, but he ends up in Madrid, then I reckon when CL rolls around and his prior mates are burning the net he is standing in, it will be a very nice bit of karma. United is going forward in right direction, with or without him

If he is off then the fact that it sounds like he's strung everybody at the club on by stalling without making his intention clear is a shit move. At the very least sign an extension so we can get a respectable fee.
I won't be booing him but I'm not going to cheer him tomorrow either, we showed faith and stuck by him and at the first real sight of consistent top form and our hard work on him paying off, he treats everyone at the club like a prick.
We've lost bigger players and I'm hugely, hugely encouraged by the noises coming from Ed & LvG who look to have a real clear plan this summer so things are looking just great.

I'll love him if he signs, I'll respect him if he comes out and tells the truth either way, now. If he keeps quiet and fucks off, I stand by calling him a cunt.

He's off. I really felt it the other week when he kept on his line, his game was shit. He wasn't focused. I think it was the Everton game. It's ok saying no man is bigger than the club but I don't want the clusterfuck that was schmichel leaving and van der sar arriving. I really feel we could have another couple of big ears in the trophy cabinet if Edwin had come to us earlier instead of wasting his time at Fulham. Cheers Dave, enjoy the tapas. Hello Victor.

The more I think about this the more I want to fuck Real over and De Gea over. Ingrate. Won't sign a new deal? No problem. We'll forego the shitty, undervalue bid Real Madrid are going to offer and sit you in the U21s for the next twelve months.

The better option is to tell him we aren’t selling him for anything this summer. Real aren’t giving us any more than 25 million Euro by all accounts. 18 Mill sterling. How much is that really worth in the overall scheme of things next year? If DDG was the difference between us finishing champions or 3rd next season, would you take the 18? I wouldn’t. He might sulk for a bit (like Ronaldo did in 08-09) but eventually personal pride takes over and he’ll play to his potential. And if Madrid are genuinely worried about their transfer ban, tell them 35 million sterling. No conversation. The end.
I just think we have quite a few other issues to worry about right now. Keeper really doesn’t need to be another one.

There is no way Real will put up with Casillas for another season, so they either buy someone else and De Gea loses his shot (ha) or give us what he's worth regardless of contract

And, if we are serious about keeping him and Real are serious about buying him, we do have a very nice chip to play if we are in for any of their players.

I thought his tweet last night was quite telling, he didn't sound like he was someone on the brink of leaving the club. Maybe thats just me. If he does move on I will be annoyed, not necessarily at him but at the situation we always find ourselves in with Real, they almost just click their bloody fingers and players come running.
Guillem Ballbag has said earlier that we've offered him 5 times what he's on now and Real can't match it so maybe that will come into it but he needs to want to stay for personal reasons i think.
If he does leave I think Valdes will be good enough for a few seasons until we need to look into other options.

What if Real decide to play the waiting game? Like Bayern did with Dortmund ?..I agree at 18m it's absolutely not worth it but losing him on a free would be absolutely scandalous.
