I said Paulinho. Earlier, when I pointed out he cost more than £ 10.5 million less than Fellaini.
Given that Moyes doesn't rate or play Kagawa, using him as a reason for not signing Eriksen is useless.

Everybody knows we overpaid for Fellaini, but I still think he could do a good job for us long term. His recent form has been a bit worrying but I'm hoping it's part of the settling in process.

Fellani's biggest drawback (apart from his hair) is his chronic lack of mobility. That cannot be fixed at this stage in his life. He can indeed be a productive player for Utd but we need to start adapting the team and formations accordingly. If we play him with Carrick against a side with a physical , mobile set of midfielders we are fucked, as has been proven twice already this season, City and yesterday. The only game it did ok in as a partnership was Leverkusen. But they were missing their first choice midfield.

It would be fine in a 3. I think a change in formation is what we need to get the best out of our players.
I know the game was over, but we looked a lot better when Cleverley came on against City. A 4-4-3 with Cleverley or Kagawa would work well.

I hope Moyes does it soon because thd crowd are in danger of turning against him and its difficult to get that back .

We shouldn't change our team to suit Fellaini though.

But joking aside, Fellaini -OR- Carrick should do well in a 3. But that would mean dropping Rooney, ergo it won't happen - because Rooney is Golden. I hope Lord Sir Ferguson the Relentless Champion's new book will force Rooney out soon enough that forces Moyes to change his tactics... but I guess it won't really happen.

We shouldn't change our team to suit Fellaini though. If e wang to give Carrick a break then Frllani could play with Tom. If we want Fellani and Carrick in the same team then you need a 3rd body in there or bad things will keep happening.

Fellaini was always part of a 3 with Everton too. It was very rare you saw them start 2 strikers, and he looked more than useful in that system.
We have the players to play a midfield 3 (Carrick/Fellaini/Kagawa) however that leaves Rooney as either out wide (which he will get the shits about), our main striker (which RVP would tolerate for about 5 minutes) or on the bench (which he will get the shits about) and seeing as he is our higest earner and we catagorically stated he will not be leaving and Moyes has stated he will play him in his "proper" position in the hole, none of the above is going to happen.

Exactly, getting rid of Rooney is the key too our future. A 3 man mid with Kagawa will work. It also frees up a massive amount of wages plus we'll get a decent transfer fee for once.

I'd shift him for free if we could get one of the continental clubs to take him.
Unfortunately most of them are wise to the fact that he just isn't that good.
