My brother said this to me over FB just now, Knowing his source I just shot him down! He won't leave, unless we have a great replacement already on the way, ie hazard

Hypothetical front three of:
Hazard Rooney Nani
Plenty of pace, invention, and 'what the fuck are you going to do next' there.

With Nani the answer to that question is one of the following:
a) Beat his man, bring the ball back and beat him again, bring the ball back and give it away b) Something really good, like take on three defenders and score from outside the box. I know, United don't usually do that anymore - but you never know. c) Fall over.

£130k is a steal for a player of his calibre. Who could we get who's better and cheaper? My son. He's only 15, but at least his corners beat the first defender!

You have to move with the times and pay the going rate(as ridiculous as it is) or we fall behind.I could see us flogging Nani for £30m and spending £40-50m. Selling Nani and spending £10-20m net would be a disaster in my opinion. If we sell Nani we should be looking to spend upwards of £80-£100. Nani's magic would cost at least £30m to replace, not to mention a few central midfielders, a full back or two and this central defender people are on about. With Nani the answer to that question is one of the following: a) Beat his man, bring the ball back and beat him again, bring the ball back and give it away b) Something really good, like take on three defenders and score from outside the box. I know, United don't usually do that anymore - but you never know. c) Fall over. There are only 2 players in world football who can do what Nani is capable of week in and week out; L. Messi and C. Ronaldo. I can't think of another flair player who maintains such high standards throughout an entire season. Personally, I'm on record as preferring Nani's silky skills over Valencia's directness. I'd take a player who has moments of 99% genius followed by 30% performances over a Valencia-type who is going to give you 60-65% each and every game. I'd refer you to the two goals he scored in the Community Shield or that chip from an impossible angle against Arsenal a few years ago and ask who else in our squad is capable of that? His two footedness, mobility, touch and creativity would fit in perfectly with a fluid pass and move style attack.

The other side of those points you make is that the opposition have no idea what he's going to do next, which makes him a threat offensively, whichever way you look at it.

As i said, Nani's only 25 and i'd most certainly want him in our squad then elsewhere.
Put it that way.
