I like Nani and want him to stay, but if we are to bring in Kagawa, not too sure as to where Nani will fit in. And just to confirm he won't be taking Danny's place

Nani says: “I have had five seasons at Manchester United and have won all the titles. Now I am really happy, but I don’t know about my future. Now I will study opportunities. Football is not only about England or Spain. It is possible to enjoy success in other countries. My agent is waiting on news about United. We have presented a counter-offer and now we are waiting on an offer from the club.” www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/nani-hints-at-manchester-united-exit-859316

Hmm, 'not all about England or Spain' tells me Italians have been knocking. Possibly Germans but I can't imagine who.

Talk of Nani being used as a makeweight in a swap deal for Juves Marchisio

Talk of Nani being used as a makeweight in a swap deal for Juves Marchisio Wouldn't mind that at all. We're well covered in terms of wingers. Marchisio for me is one of the best central midfielders around. Relatively young as well. Similar type of player to Cleverley but with much better end product. But I'd not pay them a whole lot over Nani. They're probably the same value on the market.

^^well if we sell Nani (our best winger) then we'll hardly be well covered with wingers. Although inconsistent Nani is arguably the only player capable of producing pure magic and people often forget he (along with Berba) dragged us for more than half of last season and he's had many injury problems since but still produced decent numbers. Selling him would be a step in the wrong direction in my opinion.

Selling him would be a step in the wrong direction in my opinion. I wouldn't go so far as to call him our best winger. Yes, he is unplayable on his day but that day is all too infrequent. I'd say Valencia and Young are just as good in terms of consistency. Also, with Kagawa arriving we should have decent options on the flanks. Park, Welbeck and Giggs can provide adequate cover in an injury crisis. I wouldn't like to see Nani sold per se. But if the deal involves a wonderful player like Marchisio who is the kind of signing we've been crying out for it looks like a very tempting option. One catch though - Marchisio seems to be Juve through and through and is already a club legend. Not sure if he would entertain the idea of a transfer.

I want to love him but its fucking hard because he's totally inconsistent. I hope the club ain't considering giving him a pay rise because thats not what he needs.

Why dismantle one of your best offensive options? Absolutely a step in the wrong direction, 100%. As regards players consulting with their clubs, it happens. Papers read certain things into certain statements.
