All I'll say on this is that I'd rather get Shaw. But what about Büttner? I think he did ok in his first season. agree on shaw, we would have leftback covered for 12 years at the same cost. or the cost saving smart option is play fabio/buttner and get blackett in

Ronaldo made Cole look like a goon many, many times. Ashley Cole won the battle overall

A hat-trick of titles once Ronaldo matured says differently.

Baines is a fucking brilliant left back. I would be well chuffed if we got him on board. I think he is certain to come to us. However Its not worth a shite signing a left back and not strengthening in the areas that we so desperately need to(That very important position on the pitch called Central Midfield!!!). I believe Moyesy will sort it all out

If we offer around somewhere around the £13m-£15m mark we'll get him.

I'd take Baines over Evra. He hasn't been at the very top level since 2010. Two shite seasons, followed by an improvement last term. While his concentration improved, he still seem to have real bout of lazyness tracking back. He is good in the middle of the pitch, a good dribbler and passer and always willing to make the attacking run. Chipped in with a few goals last term, but that was more of a blip and his contribution in the final third is often negligible over a season. Once his engine goes, he'll be of little use to us. I'd take Baines as someone who can reliably make some chances for us.

I don't think he's lazy, just that he hasn't adjusted his game to losing a bit of pace. Hence getting caught out a lot.

I'd be happy to see Baines come in if we can recoup on Paddy, he's been a great team player over the years but if we can score some £m's off Monnaco go for it !!!

I'm not adverse to signing Baines, whether Evra is off or not, however, the fee of £15+ million is absurd.

I think if Baines is Moyes first signing we need another one following soon after. A lot of fans will be disappointed.
