Personally don't have any problem with this. 15m for Baines is very acceptable given the current market. And I think he will suit us much more than Alba would have.

Still, if you consider Alba (23) moving for 11mil and Baines (27) for 15 you do wonder what value we'll be getting.
That said, Baines does seem a United-like player, solid.
If it was around 10-12 I'd be OK with it but 15 is pretty high. Still, if it happens he'll be playing for another 4-5 years, pinging in quality free kicks and corners.
Interesting fact, Baines made 45 appearances for Everton last season and was subbed off only once, pretty durable.

The extra 5 million is the 'English player/league premium'. Alba moved from one Spanish club to another. Barca and Real practically dictate terms in that league. They pay whatever they want to and the selling clubs just bend over and take it.
