£15m is reasonable, we should be able to get 4 good years out of him at least, giving plenty of time for Blackett / Fabio to develop and eventually take over. I don't think Alba was ever realistically an option with Barcelona's interest. With Baines we'll have one of, if not the best set piece taker in the league which will be a nice change. I'd much rather spend this sort of money on a proven, consistent LB compared to someone like Aly Cissokho or Jetro Willems.

I've come to terms with Baines for £15 million and wouldn't mind it now. As long as it ain't the £20 mil being bandied about earlier! Plus, it would be nice to see Everton get some money for a change, they could upgrade a few seats in Goodison to plastic with that sort of dough. Bloody endearing pit of a stadium.

Realistically speaking Alba was 99.99% destined to go to Barca and let's face it they bloody dictate the transfer Market and esp if its a Barca Youth player. Also we were never really in for or would have gone for Aly or Jetro, so it was going to be Baines and we can only hope that for once IF and When he joins and starts plying for us his Free Kicks don't go to shit, cos beyond tht i really hate to pay 15 Mil for that even though it is Everton and i'd want them to get good money and all

Why not go for Jethro Willems instead? We have the great resource of Rene Muelensteen as our 1st team coach, and we should try to utilize that to the fullest.

He looked a great talent in the euros and one of few players for the netherlands who didn't make a fool of themselves at the euros.

I don't really know if you are being sarcastic or actually being serious. Because Willems was pretty darn awful at the Euros. Didn't see any of the hype surrounding him. Don't know about his club performances though, but Euro-wise, awful.

a while back we were linked with a SPL LB player , izaquire or Izaguire not sure how his name is spelled , of Rangers/Celtic , then with injury it died down , any update on him , he wouldn't cost that much was quoted at around 6-7 Million and if he is of the Rangers Team then we have good shot .

Not seen much of him so merely going by what the papers seemed to tell of him, any one any idea on him.
