Absolutely this. Why the hell would we waste time and money on wingers??! Don't we have too many of those already??? If we are looking at Newcastle, I wouldn't mind Cabaye, and I would LOVE Tiote here. Papiss Cisse is good, but we have our own strikers to develop.

Just on Adam Johnson, another thing that strikes me about him is that he's too inconsistent.

To be inconsistent he'd have to actually get playing time Red. And by playing time I mean more than 3/4 consecutive games.

What i'm alluding to is that if he was consistent in the first place, he would have held down a first team place there. Didn't do it regardless of who they have.
He's done it now and again but Johnson's never really convinced as far as i'm concerned.
Just my personal view.

I get what you mean but he's often been great, even scored, then left out the following week. Mancini doesn't know how to develop youngsters.

I've been really impressed by Johnson. Whenever he's been given the chance to prove himself, he does it. Rarely does he not make an impact on a game, from what I've seen. Just been let down by Mancini.

He should never have gone to city, simple as. Players did it years ago when chelsea got rich, Scott Parker, Joe Barton, SWP, All of which failed there.
Proves the point that money isnt everything.

cant believe the we dont need johnson. its not really about that, he would add fantastic competition for young, granted we dont need another wnger but if he were available then why not. quick feet, very fast and direct. he does not get a chance at citeh as said he can score and be benched or worst not in the squad the next game. citeh havent developed his all round game the way they should have, he looks raw but very talented. to each their own but i'd take him

Could say the same about any player if they were available, granted hes not a bad little winger, Hes nowhere near proved himself in order for us to go for him though. Weve got 3 wingers soon to be a possible 4th, Thats more than enough. Another striker would be more practical.

Any player that chooses the money over the football and ends up on the bench deserves what they get, they move to these big money clubs for stupid wages and spend more time off the pitch than they do on it, what do they expect.

I like Johnson as a player. I think he'd get in most teams outside of the one he's at. I've been in the North East for a bit now so I've seen a fair bit of him since he was at Middlesbrough. I think from what I've heard it's an attitude problem he has. He wouldn't be the only one at City (Micah Richards) but I think it lingers from his Middlesbrough days. There's a lot of players who aren't viewed in particularly high esteem round here that have been at that club. I've never heard anyone say a good word about Downing, and I've witnessed Woodgate being a wanker first hand. He's just one of those lads.

He should def fuck off for the good of his career.
Very good player who should be a dead cert for the England squad and a strong contender for the first XI. This is what happens when you go to City.
Obviously we don't need him but he'd be a great buy for basically any Prem club apart from United/Chelsea.

Don't need Johnson? Well, if Fergie still sees Park and Giggs as viable options wide left then we certainly DO need Johnson (or someone like him).
Not before fixing the midfield though.

Exactly, Sort out the midfield this year, we have enough wingers to sort us out, worry about that next year. If it aint broke don't try to fix it.

Still can't see City letting Johnson go to of all clubs us. If this happened i would be genuinely shocked.
