His value drops every year now for a lot of reasons, unless he has an immense season. Said before I rate him highly and think he'd fit in an absolute dream at United, unfortunately its the Sun and the Mirror reporting it so it seems unlikely based on that!
£25m upfront seems a small sum as others have said, considering what Levy is like. They could've made the rumour a bit more reallistic

Not be a party popper but what peeps are forgetting is that with Modric and Strootman coming in along with kagawa , unless we are actually shipping out Ando and Nani( i hope that he doesn't go).
We are looking at reduced game time for Clevs and Carrick , not to mention Scholes , but since it will be his last season so i ain't looking too much into it.

Sure Petrucci and likes will get the Carling cups and FA Cups Games , But at league games and Europe it will be full strength Squad and that' would mean we leave them.

That would be harsh on Carrick who has been our best last season and Clevs who has been upped by almost every1 here including me.

IMO it'd be better if we went for strootman/ Modric. Stroot first and if we fail go for Modric.

Agreed. Only I'd rather go for Modric over Strootman. Carrick and Modders together in midfield would be a dream!

Its not that i don't rate Modric well or think he is overrated but we haven't had a guy like strootman and the Everton game made me think how a guy like fellaini actually bossed our Midfield around.

Also at 22 he has really come up quite well and since Levy ain't gonna just roll over for us , it would make sense financially also to go for Strootman and then for a LB.

Besides its way cooler to Sing "HERE Comes the STROOOOTMAN..."

tatty i think for the position of where he could play he is better suited than, sneijder, munian, moutinho and kroos.
the others i dont know about.
also if the price is correct he would be cheaper than the 4 i mentioned apart from moutinho and sneijder but i would say he is better value than wesley, age and wages and hunger. as for moutinho i think modric is a better player.
modric is a proven prem player. if i had the choice the only other players i would have looked at aghead of him are defensive midfielders/ box to box mids, only as i feel carrick and scholes can rotate to offer then deep lying passing and calm
