Aye, that i agree , but then most of our players will get slacked pretty quickly or devalued instantly. Chico was a hit in the first season , this season , he is had pretty much everything, though he has been injure for quite some time and still manage to get into double digits in the goals department. Carrick is one of those "unpopular" players I disagree with that. At Spurs they loved him. The problem at United was the ever since he signed he was up against it. Fans were unhappy that we spent so much on him and that he wasn't a Keano-type player. So immediately fans were on his back. I remember a few times that season having to defend him against people.

the reason people get on carricks back is they don't feel he goes up a gear. he lacks a bit of urgency/intensity. he sometimes gets caught in posession or misplaces a pass cheaply and he looks too casual in the process
this is the downside to his game. he's probably the nicest guy you'll meet, a very laid back sort of dude and it shows in his game.
the upside is that generally he's a good player, plays an important role. if we could get him the right partner he could be a very good player for us for another 3 or 4 years easily

Am I right in thinking that he played more games than any other United player last season?

I skimmed this and for a second I thought you were saying Van Bommel or De Jong are the sort of players we need. I nearly puked all over my keyboard.

De Jong and Van Bommel are the exact type of players we need.....to stay the fuck away from. Cunts like that have no place wearing a United jersey.

What we need/needed was for them stupid scientists to have cloned Bryan Robson instead of Dolly the bloody sheep. That was '96, the clone would be 16 now and nearly ready. Bastards.

It's funny you should say that actually. A few years before Dolly the sheep, 4 to be exact, scientists tried a highly-secretive and closely-guarded human cloning experiment. On the 21st Feb, 1992, a human clone of Bryan Robson was made. The result experiment was not entirely, 100%, identical. The physical features of the clone are different to Robson's, but the mental strength and other attributes, and footballing talent remained perfectly in tune. The failure to obtain physical identicality saw the experiment written off, and the project was shelved until they attempted the same process with a sheep after a 4 year hiatus period. In the meantime, that Bryan Robson clone was placed with a family in Preston, to be raised with no-one in the world outside a very select group to know what had occurred. . .

I see another film plot developing here...
"Spliced: The Phil Jones Story"
Granted, it does sound like a straight-to-cable number but still.

on carrick my only grip is he is too content to sit back maybe on orders of the coaches, i feel there is another 20% in him that he doesnt show regularly enough. precision shooting, ability to get forward aswell. the guy is a complete midfielder, in italy or spain he would be a dream but they would encourage him to do those things. personally i think he should rotate with scholes then we can get 2 box to box players or get one and let jones do the role. like rio said the guy can move 40 yards hard with the ball putting people on the back foot. he has a fab engine positionally he may not be the best but even in his supposed position of centerback his positioning is iffy at times. he is young enough to adapt to the role aswell. i think the guy has enough talent to do it or centerback
