More games for him, to aclimate well to EPL and he'll be the best midfielder, true story.

Tactical coaches need to solve the problem that Kagawa isn't seeing enough of the ball. He needs much more quicker possession than he currently has. I think a Shinji - Robin front two is the way forward in a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 formation (I recently supported a 4-3-3 formation, but I'm beginning to think we can't adapt to it).
But then, we have a big problem satisfying all our strikers though. How do people feel about pulling Shinji back into a 4-4-2 central midfield? Pairing him up with either Carrick, Anderson, Cleverley or Scholes.

When is Shinji due back in training? While its been fantastic seeing Jones and Smalling jump right back into the team like they never left after long injuries. I'm starting to worry where Kagawa fits into all of this. He's sure as hell not going to take Rooney's #10 role. Do you play him deeper in the middle? Do you try him out wide again? Young and Tony have played so well the last few weeks, and Danny is more than deserving for more appearances. He is a fantastic little player, but he seems to struggle when teams set out to deny him the ball. I just hope he doesn't end up being a round peg in a square hole like Berba did. I guess it's still too early to tell. Thoughts?

To get the best out of him we have to get rid of our wingers, he just doesnt suit 442.
Rooney and Kags as inside forwards supporting the Dutchman, over-lapping FBs, a sitting CM and 2 box to boxers, sorted!

And look at the result. We cannot rely on our FB's for our width. Kagz should be tried in CM paired with Cleverley, why the hell not.

I'd have something like this...
Carrick
Cleverley Anderson
Kagawa Rooney
RvP
You won't get much width with that but I think that kind of formation would be ideal for playing in Europe, where wingers aren't that popular right now. However for games in the PL I think you still need to play a more traditional formation with wingers. I think what atlantas said was correct, Kagawa needs a more fast and fluid style of play, more touches and more dynamism to the team, and with the current players available I reckon that midfield selection there is the best for it. I hope he gets back soon!

kagawa coming back will give us a lot of options.
________Carrick_________Cleverley__ ________________Kagawa___________
___Valencia______________Rooney_____ ______________Van Persie_______________
in a 4-3-3. that's a free role for rooney to play in the hole, drop back into midfield, help evra on the left. not to do what tony's doing on the right.
i'd use that in certain games, but in the big games we are doing alright with 4-4-2 and hitting teams on the break. i have no idea where kagawa fits in there. wide left? young does a decent job there in the big games mind.
another option would be to leave out valencia, play kagawa and rooney behind/ in and around van Persie and play 3 orthodox center mids like Rors said. if anderson was fit i'd play him, i think he'd be more effective in a 3 than a 2.
i'd say let's just let kags get back to full fitness and continue to learn the game over here. he started well and i'm sure he's gonna be a top player. in the mean time let's manage our expectations. talk of building the side around him is v.premature

We looked so good in the 2nd half against Spurs with Clev, Kag and Rooney all on the pitch together. Then you have Tony V as the constant outlet on the right, and the goal machine up top. Good stuff.

i think he will play right side of a front 3 if anything. who knows to be honest lets just wait and see but with his talent fergie has to get the best of him whilst still ensuring the others are in positions that allow them to deliver. i'd rather 1 player out of position than 3 or 4 to accomodate 1
