lols @ the idea of people 'leaving' like it's a job or a city. why not just post when you feel like it, why delete the account? i know what u mean though
i think i'm on here a lot 1) because i very rarely use fag book or twitt and 2) because i've been home a lot over the last 18 months or so, only working part time or doing one off's. looking at my posts mounting up though, fooking hell.

Haha. I still remember when I almost got labelled a troll and / or a warning when I called some other player from another club a "fag" on here. Can't remember who the moderator was (before Chris and Stew?), but he misunderstood me for being homophobic or using it as a homo-degratory term.

Im the same mate, posted quite a lot on here over the past few months, mainly due to being bored in work or stuck at home. Its a tidy forum, Ive been on my fair share of them and to be honest this is one of the better ones. It does get stupid when people get personal etc I mean its the internet, people shouldn't take owt personal either (im not saying that SET did and that's the reason he left as it might not be). His reasons are his own and you just gotta respect them. There's a lot of you that seem a tidy bunch, we all know who the regulars are. Someone leaves and its is a shame but you just have to get on with it. Its not going to make me post less or stop posting at all so be what it may Life goes on. Its good to have a relatively normal discussion with a good bunch of people about one thing we all have in common, Id say I get on with people here so have no reason to think otherwise. Btw don't want to sound like im being harsh or owt when I say about getting on with it. Just the way the world works unfortunately. |

Too many people have tried to emulate my cool guy, hipster Devil's advocate kick, which has really put a dent in numbers. There was a time when it was just me and Robnob who were vocal malcontents, now it seems everyone is and it can get grating. I think it says a lot when the best thread on a football board is the wrestling thread, as there's proper discussions between a few people who are willing to listen to other opinions. Unlike Jimbo and Bestie and their Ronaldo tiffs in every 3rd thread.  |

Sad to hear about SET, I considered him a mate. A suppose a lot of it is about people moving on, getting different interests in life. A good few come back. What tends to happen is that each "generation" throws up a few people that really keeps it going. And a few of that generation stays and the next one comes in. The likes of Tatty, johnboy and bestie are the Scholes and Giggs or the place, been here forever, can't remember when they weren't part of the place. Jim, jay, Karthy etc would be the Hernadezs and Andersons. Then we have the next gang, the Kagawas, to liven the place up! One thing we've always tried to do is keep debate lively without it nose-diving into hurling insults. It's not tolerated as much on here as other places. But sometimes it's hard to regulate. I think as well this has been a strange few months. Terrible end to the season, euros, transfers, mixed start and then international break. Glad the real footy is back on almost non -stop. Almost like we've had too much time on our hands and are at each other for stupid reasons. The place evolves though. Maybe we don't thank you guys enough for keeping it going. I know there are arguments, I know we want to kill each other sometimes. But overall I think RoM is a pretty good place. I know I miss it if it were ever to go. I hope most of you would say the same.  |

At least SET didn't make a big song and dance about leaving, but it is a bit weird that people delete their account. I get quite a bit of stick on here sometimes, but that's the point of a forum. If you have an opinion that not everyone agrees with, argue your respective cases. Don't just cry off into the sunset. (not saying this was SET's reason for leaving, but y'get my point) |
