2nd I think....seems that Bebe and Macheda both had shockers (no real surprise)...I'd like to see Tunnicliffe get some game time for the first team....

Have to say Thorpe had a blinder last night.
Very, very good player.

Losing 1-0 at the moment against Villa at Moss Lane. 70 minutes gone.
Not surprised considering half the team are in Istanbul!

United U21s play Southampton away tonight at 20:30, reckon the team selection might give us an idea of how we're shaping up for Cluj and who we can hope to see make appearances.

Only seen the last 10-15 mins but we look good, Petrucci has controlled that midfield, we just need to be a bit more clinical.
On a side note I wish more reserves games were played on proper pitches, our lads seem to be enjoying it too.

Lingard has looked really good, watched sporadically as I've got quite a bad stream, commentary leads me to believe we've looked good, Henriquez also looking good.

That's 2 good chances that we've had since going one down, really shouldn't be losing this one but you can't waste chance after chance.
edit: and there we go, 1-1 Macheda, 10 mins to go on and win it.

Lingard sent off for handball on the line, should have been a foul before that for a push on our defender though, Johnstone saved the resulting pen, still 1-1.

FT 1-1, goes down to the last game to see which group we end up in for the next phase.
Thought Petrucci looked good, kept the ball ticking over in midfield and put in a great ball from a freekick that Thorpe should have done better with, he does like to take his time on the ball though so I wonder if that's what's holding him back from being involved in the first team squad a bit more.

I know we overhype some players, but seriously, other than the whole drink-drive thing, I cannot think of a good reason why Tunnicliffe hasn't even made the bench for us yet.

Petrucci looked fantastic, what stood out for me was his ability to keep the ball, he's really strong on it and he's got the technique to keep taking it away from defenders. That and obviously his vision and set piece ability - really hope he can stay injury free for a little while at least and make it into some 1st team squads. Tunners looked good and so too Lingard, especially as the latter just returned from his loan spell.
Those three, for me, along with Keane and Wootton from the back (Thorpe too if I'm honest) and Henriquez up front seem to be next in line in terms of evolving to the first team.
I'll be honest and say last night was the first full match I saw from Henriquez, until he was replaced that is - talent. He's got Chico's work-rate up front, flying into tackles, winning them, and closing down the opposition defenders. Strong on the ball and pretty quick, glad he got to play with another striker as he looked able to link play well and he had about 2/3 great chances and if it wasn't for two great saves he'd have scored two last night.

Tunni, Petrucci, Daehli, Lingard , Januzaj and Wooton along with the Keane brothers hopefully should get some game time starting with FA Cups.
With Daehli nt playing yesterdat slightly hoping that he may get involved in the CLuj game but that'd be something if it really happened tho

Really doubt that, Daehli, even though extremely talented, is pretty much religiously playing with the u/18s and until he's a regular for the u/21s I doubt he'll make the jump over the intermediate team into first team CL squads, at least not at United at the moment.
