Isn't it because the COD series / franchise are being made by 2 different developing teams? Infinity ward and Treyarch - the latter is the one that I usually follow mainly because of Nazi Zombies. They come out with titles each every 2 years or so... which means every year there's a COD title since 2004 I think.

Well jimbo, it really comes down to the fact that the series has stagnated to the point of regression. I see Treyarch tried some new innovations with campaign and different endings and all that, but its all just rubbish to me. Its all to try and divert attention from the fact that it still has the same old errors carried on for the last 2-3 games and nobody gives a rats because people keep buying it anyway. Same rubbish graphics which would look at home in 2009, laggy online play, rubbish pea-shooter mechanics and multiplayer is always unbalanced no matter what. It would have been better if they probably took time with such games, give it a couple of years of development rather than just shitting one out each year. This game is no way a AAA rated game. It insults AAA games because of the time and effort it takes to get them made while these guys just take off the old clothes and put new ones every year. And every year it sells billions. One look at the demographic that buys these games will make everything clear why though. I know extremely few people above 18 who actively play this game, most of the time we're playing battlefield . Get on a COD server and you're 90% of the time drowned by the voices of pre-pubescent 13-15 year olds throwing a hissy fit because they got stabbed by a douchebag, who, thanks to an extremely retarded perk, makes him run like you're fast forwarding the game 2X whilst stabbing players 3 metres away from you for an instant kill, even if that player just shot you point blank 3 times with a rifle . And don't even get me started on the campers and running snipers. Its rubbish to me.

And don't even get me started on the campers and running snipers. Its rubbish to me. im pretty opposed on most points. the graphics are fine, i play through a 1080p TV and theres no problem with the graphics. i know they can't compete with a high-end PC but for a 7-year old system the COD graphics are good. i still play WAW from 2008 and those graphics are fine too. the online play isn't often laggy. the system migrates the host when there's a problem. i usually only get 3 bar but it's my crap connection. can't blame the game. multi-player isn't unbalanced. what specifically do u mean by that? for me the only imbalance i think i'm seeing is the sub machine guns being slightly OP. but that could just be cos i'm losing close range fights, and since i'm using an assault rifle i should be losing those sort of fights. i've never noticed a significant imbalance in any cod game. also the game is new, if there are overpowered weapons or what not they will likely patch it. treyarch support the shit out of their games, any time there were micro-issues with black ops 1 they patched it up quick before 95% of players even noticed there was a problem.

my problem with the game BTW is the crap maps and the chaotic spawning. maybe not quite MW3 levels of shite but still bad. there's only 2 or 3 maps i quite like. too many smallish maps with messy layouts

Worst multiplayer out of all the recent COD's.

it's not my fav but why would you say it's worse than MW3 Christophé?
speaking of BO2:
the recent patch update has nerfed the SMG's which is music to my ears. fucking small, chaotic maps, scattergun spawning, and cunts running around hipfiring their OP'd sub machine guns gets on my tits.
they've also nerfed something on the sniper rifles, meaning said cunts will find it harder to no-scope.
and,
a bunch of other stuff.

Its just getting on my tits. Its hard to build any real rhythm and use scorestreaks. I'm finding that whenever I kill someone, I am killed by somebody else immediately after from behind. It also seems like my bullets are not connecting as they should, knifing is pointless as I always seem to just miss and die, even when the target is right in front of me, the maps are just an absolute mess and its massively bugged. Yesterday, someone shot me and I survived by standing behind a pillar. I then suddenly died.I checked the reply and the guy was just shooting the wall and it claimed I was still getting shot! Respawns are crap as well and the levels are too sniper friendly.
Also, camping has returned better than ever, but there is a new camping. Standing behind a rock or another object and just waiting for someone to arrive so you don't get the chance to act and you're dead. It tends to be this more than someone just aiming there guns straight at a door, waiting for someone. How people can play the game like that is amazing to me. Pussies!
In order of best multiplayers:
MW2 MW1 Black Ops 1 MW3 World at War Black ops 2

MW2 at the top of your list? i didn't play it, but generally most people i hear talk about it say that it was the worst of the lot, noob tubes ruining it etc.
i watched a youtube commentator play the game yesterday and he made an interesting point. i hate the small, messy maps and chaos spawning, and his theory is that it is an effort by treyarch and infinity ward last year with MW3 to level out the playing field. any new player or a player of poor ability can get kills, they've only got to turn a corner and they can shoot someone in the back. and the really good players find it harder to get the bigger kill streaks and dominate the game because it's hard to stay alive.
i reckon he's on the money with this. a commercial decision that hurts the game for anyone who's basically not a crap player. i'm no better than average but the game fucks me time and time again.
true story - since playing BO2, between me and the mates i play with we have actually spawned on an enemys bouncing betty half a dozen times. WTF is that about
they should re-name this edition of the game Shot in the Back Ops.

Yeah, I enjoyed MW2. Mainly because of the dual wield model 1887 shotguns! They were so cool! Plenty of noob tubers, but the levels were great, the weapons were probably the best in the series, it wasn't overly flashy and I thought the actual story was excellent. I think the difference in weapon is the main reason why MW1 was 2nd in my list. MW1 was the first attempt when the creators didn't know how big the series was going to be and it was simple, yet affective.
Whats your order of games Jim?

the first COD i played properly was Black Ops 1. that's my fav multiplayer. i liked the maps a whole lot better.
fav campaign is def World at War,a few of us go back and play the multiplayer sometimes, but it's been hacked to shit. but there's something about WaW, it's grim, gritty, + it's taking down the Nazi's. and you've got the voices of Gary Oldman and Keifer Sutherland.
i liked MW3 for the first 6 months or so, i was getting ok at it. i remember nearly going 3 games in a row without a death. but then i bought all the map bundles at once and it was like learning a new game and i started hating it.
would like to build a nice rig and go back to PC gaming but it's all ££ i don't have.

[/rant] If that was the plan it has worked a treat. The spawns are shite, I`m sick of getting shot in the back.Even if you try to hold an end they spawn beside you!Or you keep spawning infront of the same player as they head in one direction, the same guy kills you 3 or 4 times in seconds, grrrrrrrrrrr lol. The maps are very small, hopefully the next batch brings some variety.

playing anything other than Search if by myself has gone right off the menu. i'm proper sick of being put into teams to replace players who have quit out because their team is being smashed to pieces, usually with just a minute or so left on the clock. i know they want to fill lobbies, but fuck off. i don't want to join these games to make up the numbers, what is in it for me?
this fucking game.

I am holding back by saying only this - but BO2 is just the same re-gurgitated nonsense that we see every year. COD online took a dip after World at War and has never recovered..they have tried to be too clever with all the new features every year which makes it increasingly unbalanced each year.
I have dumped it for Far Cry 3 which is a fantastic game. Looking forward to GTA V also!
