if he could do a job in scholes current role sat deep then yeah i'd be all over that. we really don't need another number 10 type figure.

Considering the diminished amount of games he's played recently perhaps he would be able to fill that gap and allow Scholesey to hang up the boots when the time comes.
Imagine not having to play Rafael in midfield and having someone like him to pop up every so often, playing +/- 20 - 25 games a season and helping the likes of Clevers, Powell and Tunners coming through. It sounds great, but in reality he'll want a guaranteed starting spot, especially as, if he'd wanted to come and play for Utd, he'd have forced the moved when we were sniffing.

He is a number 10. We don't need another and we certainly don't need to weaken our midfield anymore in a defensive sence.

SET (Welcome back by the way Ash) has a good point.
Eric Cantona, 2011: "He is what Manchester United need. There's no-one like him right now. He's strong. Sometimes he reminds me of myself."
Okay, admittedly I've never heard that endorsement before, but just on that basis let's go get him. Fuck it, might as well.

The players we want/need cost a lot of money - therefore we aint gonna get them all. Well, not in one go at least. If his price has dropped considerably, then why not bring him in? Especially if Scholes and Giggs are going this summer - its not like we have a wealth of talent waiting to get in the team.

Id much rather sign Sneidjer and pay him 200k a week and get the best out of him than sign Lampard and pay him half the money. I know that theory sounds stupid because were spending twice as much, but in my opinion wed be getting twice the player.
Hes only 28 so thats 6 years younger than Lampard, also comparing to 2 there is only 1 clear cut winner. Also the amount of shit hes got from the united fans along the years is a bit of an own goal should we sign him then cheer him.
Ive wanted this guy at OT for years and now we have a real opportunity to sign him given that this time he WANTS to leave. If he signs for another prem club ill be well and truly gutted that weve missed out on him.

Exactly. Look at all those options for a front 4! We could go straight 4-4-1-1 with Valencia and Young with Sneijder or Rooney ahead of the midfield. We could have a permanently rotating three of Kagawa, Young/Nani, and Rooney. Wer could have some people's favourite diamond, with Kagawa and Rooney the narrow 'wide' men and Sneijder through the middle. *Note* - The only reason I included Giggs is that we are probably going to give him another God-damned year contract.

Weve banged on about Fergie not doing this with Giggs and Scholes, if he signs it will happen, its a guarantee. This is why we shouldn't go for him. If we sign Lampard then everyone who has said about Giggs and Scholes is a hypocrite.
