There are three factors that may let Mourinho down -
1) his failure to really develop any youth players 2) his attitude 3)his style of football.
1) This one is his biggest flaw in my eyes - though I have no idea how many of those players he brought through at Porto. But you also have to consider our record with youth players isn't exactly amazing at the minute.
2) As far as I'm concerned, his attitude is a plus point. I want the manager of United to be an arrogant bastard. If you hear Fergie talk about Mourinho's infamous 'Special One' interview, you'll understand exactly why having such a cocky manager is such a good thing - (Just like the manager we've had for the past 26 years)
3) Nobody can tell me Real play boring football. And even under CHelsea, those first couple of years, with Duff and Robben on the wing, Chelsea played some scintillating football. They were wrongly tarnished as boring just because they were also solid. (fuck me, imagine having a solid defence?)

^^^ assuming you already dealt with #'s 2 & 3..... i think it was Bestie that mentioned this before, but Mou has not been doing too badly with the youth at Madrid.
he has given a few of their Cantera players games in the league, and the CL, and he is bringing that Varane guy (the young french defender that we tried to sign b4 he went to Madrid) on very nicely indeed.
