You have probably read that Fergie has 'no plans' to buy in the transfer window.
I guess this comes as no real surprise but in reality, do we really need reinforcements? If so where and if we bring in a new player, who would you leave out and what shape would you make the team to accommodate him?
I've been thinking about this and the only possibility for me would be Strootman...but where would he fit? Should we get Carrick out? Don't we have youngsters that need to be blooded? If we keep on blocking their progress then they will be off and I can't blame them....
So what do you reckon?

I'd buy Falcao just to be 'those wankers' and have a foward line of: Valencia --- --- --- --- --- Kagawa Rooney Falcao -- van Perfect Fuck defending. But genuinely, I'd love Bale or another top-quality winger.

Bale is a good shout actually....it would give us some serious quality on the left hand side...and while I'm at it a world class LB would be handy...not sure if Fabio or Buttner are going to make it...although Fabio really hasn't had a decent shot at it like Rafa had....

Shame I honestly thought hed spend endless amounts and buy a central midfielder. yeah, right..... Glad you noticed the imense sarcasm there . I think we do need some sort of cover, but between the lads weve got atm that are showing signs of promise and some of the younger lads coming through the ranks I dont think we need to spend big, maybe Wanyama or as you say Strootman being the ideal candidates. Looking long term we've got quite a selection of young positive mids: Cleverley Powell Carrick - still has a few seasons in him. Anderson Jones - Personally think Mid is his best position anyway Fletcher - still might have a couple in him depending on the fitness levels Then you have the likes of Tunnicliffe, Petrucci, Cole, Lingard and plenty of others coming thorough. The problem isnt the players have at our disposal, its staying free from injury. Wingers however its a different thing, Bale would be first choice out of any position for me. Been a fan of his for long enough and would love to see what he does best but in a united shirt.

Not bothered about the January window. Too many panic buys and poor signings (ahem.... Torres... Ahem.. Carroll). Wait until the summer for Giggs and Scholes to retire (again, ahem...) then buy replacements ie: box to box/holding midfielder. I'm sure we can play someone on his own at the back while we attack like FUCK!

Sign Giggs on as a coach, that will do me.
I like Wanyamma but Celtic wont sell while they are still in the CL, so we can tie up a deal for him at the end of Feb.
Strootman would also be a good addition but its one or the other between him and Wanyamma or as Ratbag says it would block the progress of our youngsters specifically Petrucci, who I have a load of faith in.

Messi, Falcao, Neymar and El Shaarawy all in. Hummels a possibity.
De Gea, Lindegaard, Johnstone and Amos all out. Nani promoted to captain and Larnell Cole as the new No: 1.

I think Tatty has a great point - Messi just signed a new contract, surely that is just a ruse by Barcelona to up the bidding money. But with our tons of wealth, it wouldn't be a problem really.
I also think Ronnie will join us, because Manchester is predicted to have balmy weather.

In all fairness in regards to Messi, he was never going to not sign, you could offer Barca 500m and offer Messi 1m a week and he wouldn't be going anywhere, he is your typical Giggs, Scholes player where your heart and sole is in the club. Was going to include Gerrard then but I remember he wanted to join the rentboys, so no loyalty there.

I'd get Strootman. A proper box to box is a priority, anyone else would be a bonus.
--Strootman - Clevs/Ando-- Nani --- Rooney - --Kagawa ---------------RvP-----------------
