I thought Fryers signed for Spurs in the summer so this is news 2 me. Good luck to him. I dont blame him for going. Fergie isnt giving them a gd enuff chance so you cant expect them to sit and wait, if an opportunity comes up then good luck to him.

Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson has revealed his disappointment at Tottenham Hotspur signing his former defender Ezekiel Fryers.
The 20-year-old was out of contract at United and looked set to join Spurs last summer but the two sides failed to agree a compensation package.
The defender left Old Trafford for Standard Liege, and made the move to White Hart Lane as soon as the January transfer window opened.
The Reds boss is urging authorities to look into the matter as his side lost out on a sizeable fee for the left-back, although he accepts Spurs were not in breach of current rules.
Speaking to MUTV, Ferguson said: "To me, I think it's a blatant manipulation of the rules.
"Tottenham did nothing wrong as he went to Standard Liege. They tried to buy him off us and we'd been looking for a certain figure. They wouldn't pay it but asked if they could take him down there on trial and, at that time, he was out of contract in June anyway.
"So he went down on trial and he went to Portugal with them. They then said they weren't prepared to pay the money and, all of a sudden, he signed for Standard Liege.
"We knew immediately and suspected that he would return to Tottenham in January and that's happened. It's a [Spurs chairman] Daniel Levy deal. You know, it's his fingerprints all over it. It's the kind of thing we expected he was going to do."

Fergie's not happy

Anyone who thinks we haven't pulled sneaky shit during transfers is either incredibly naive or blinded by red tints everywhere they look.
Spurs have signed a decent youngster and saved themselves a couple of million, good for them. Have to say he didn't look anything startling to me anyway, more of a future "O'Shea" type.

Have they really signed Holtby? We missed out big time!

When have we ever done this?Every club taps up but then they pay. There is no point having these rules in place(Sturridge cost Chelsea £5m plus sell on fees) if you allow this blatant manipulation of them.Really poor form from Spurs, hopefully karma takes a Bale size chunk out of their arse,

We'll drop the complaints in exchange for a fair price on Bale, Mr. Levy. See, we don't even ask for him free. We're stand up guys like that.

A lot more would have been made of this if the shoe had been on the other foot.
I'm not bothered about Fryers as he doesn't look to be a great talent anyway and on the off chance he does develop then at least it's in an area of the pitch we're already stocked with young talent so we won't miss him but the way Spurs have gone about this is a joke, stingy fuckers.
