www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/cricket/60623312Gutted about this. I was just reminiscing with my mate about how we used to play cricket against the next street and the whole neighborhood made a day of it. We needed Six to win in the last over and my cousin smashed it for six and out over the garages! Epic games. Fuck me, summer holidays were good back then.

Not many celeb deaths floor me, but Shane’s has. What a cricketer and he’s even better as person when I met him. Rest in power.

Proper shocked. Woke up to a message from my mate saying those nights on the boat have finally caught up with him (inside joke).
Wondered what he was on about then cottoned on, realised Warne must have died but couldn't believe it.
Absolute legend, unreal cricketer, top bloke, great laugh and bagged Liz Hurley. What a life.

Shane came up in conversation with my brother just a few weeks ago. Neither of us are big Cricket fans, but we were talking and reminiscing about sporting memories from when we were younger, how sport feels so different now, and how that's related to how we consume sports and sports media these days. I think the fact that two non-fans could talk for a good 10 minutes about Shane and his bowling says a lot about him. Proper legend.

I remember him being interviewed after the sexting incidents and his claim of being a reformed character.
After him saying how he was embarrassed and had learnt from his mistakes, the interviewer showed recent footage of him running over to a young lady in the crowd who handed him a pen and lifted her skirt for him to sign her bum cheek.
He just laughed and said that he was damned if he did and damned if he didn’t, as he’d be seen to be unsporting. The interviewer said he totally agreed, but then asked why he had written his mobile number? 😂

Typical pathetic collapse by England but fair play to the last two wickets, Leach and Mahmood come in and put on 90 runs between them, nearly doubling the score.

Bloody hell, what a year for Australian cricket.
Rod Marsh, Warnie, and now Andrew Symonds have all died. Only a couple of years older than me, tragic.

I based my leg break bowling action on Warnie's and it hit hard when it was announced.

First innings in our new era, and we collapse within about 20 runs.
Our bowling attack must get so pissed off with the batting line up

Which is metal when you compare it to the one day team. Yep. Least inspiring openers since Cook and Strauss, panic sets in when we start every innings two down before reaching 35 runs.

Absolutely mental that Root becomes only the 2nd Englishman to reach 10,000 test runs and just happens to be the exact same age as Cook was when he reached it; same years, months, and days.
As piss poor as Englands batters are, just imagine if Root wasn't around.

Barring major injury, he should easily finish as the second highest run scorer ever but he'll be looking at taking #1, especially now he's already dropped the captaincy
