Thiago is a good player. In the under 21 tournament a few years ago a couple of players were head ans shoulders above their compatriots- De Gea, Jones, Shaquiri and this guy. Thiago looked miles ahead of any midfielder at that competition.

With Ferguson gone we no longer need to worry about his blind spot when it comes to midfielders.
Now it's just Moyes' inability to find a decent striker we'll need to concern ourselves with.

But you know what, all the time I am supporting UTD I have to say SAF's refusal to sign a quality midfield in the past 5 years still has me bemused and perplexed. I honestly believe we would have at least 1 more CL if he had of strengthen this area of the pitch. In a lot of previous cases it's been more so, not being able to sign a quality midfielder for various reasons, rather than refusing to sign one, in relation to Ferguson. Sneijder, Nasri, Ozil, Lucas, Modric, Eriksen, etc are the ones that come to mind at the moment, i'm sure there's a rake of others. It's not as if Fergie had no idea, and just refused to attempt to bring anybody in. |
