Don't get me wrong Stew, so would I, but the rational nature of the way I think cannot fathom how this is a goer, especially as the player clearly does not want to leave.
Who'll take his spot at Barca? Xavi & Iniesta are getting older and Song isn't exactly multidimensional.
34 mil would be worth it all things considered, and at 26 he's still got years ahead of him.
Still, I can't see it happen and, more importantly, not going to get my hopes up. On another note, Piers would surely throw himself in the Thames if this happened?

If we sign Fabregas i'll somebodys hat.
Wouldnt call it a PR stunt but at the same time if he came back to the prem I think it would only be back to Le Haribo lovers.

Thought that too Paul but would he really go back to Arsenal?
He doesn't share their current vision, that finishing fourth is better than a trophy.

Still not believing it Jay. I even heard "Fabregas was open to a move to MUFC" this morning.....not sure how many times I heard that about Thiago. What believe we've made a bid? I see no reason not too, the sources are as credible as you can get without one of the clubs saying anything. The BBC rarely get involved with rumour type stuff and their article wasn't full of 'BBC sources understands' or alike, they just said it had happened. Which for now is good enough for me. I don't believe we haven't made a bid. Just that we have any credible chance of signing him. I couldn't care less whether the BBC have said this or that anymore, neither club have confirmed it so as far as I'm concerned it's all bollocks. Cesc has said time and time again that he has NO DESIRE to leave Barcelona, why would he after all the fuss he made about moving there. This is a non starter for me.

If by some miracle Barca decide to sell him everyone will still know he never really wanted to leave, plus we'd have to break our transfer record in order to fend off the Gooners, in excess of 31mil. No we wouldn't, if Cesc doesn't want to join Arsenal, the clause literally counts for nothing. The only way it comes into effect is if the player wants to join Arsenal, it has no affect on the bid we make. I'd call anything around £31m a great deal for us.

Nah dont think he will, but think that would be the only move should he decide to ever go bk to the prem
Dont get me wrong I'd love him at OT but just cant see it happening, Would much rather go for players like Gundogan or Machisio.
Players that wouldnt cost an arm and a leg and have top quality they can inject into the side.

Would be a class signing for anything under 35mill but I can't see him leaving Barca.

I have some faith for once. That this is not a PR stunt, at least.

Ah man, if logic starts to slip away in this thread all is lost. Some might never make it back.
