sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/catalan-press-confirm-fabregas-approach-from-both-arsenal-and-manFabregas himself is quoted by La Informacion in the early hours of this morning as saying "I have not opened my mouth ever. It took me a lot to get where I am and I won't throw it away for nothing. II will say if I want it to be something else, what I really want is to succeed at Barca, it has been my childhood dream." So that's that? Other than Irwin's quotes I really don't see where this supposed transfer got legs, It seemed unlikely from the off.

I will believe that we have more chance of getting Ronnie back than of getting Cesc, while it'd be probably send Piers over the edge , this unfortunately doesn't have the legs

Yep, Thiago seems far more likely to join from Barca. I'm worried the massive will come in for him with huge wages though.

I'm worried the massive will come in for him with huge wages though. This, it's almost inevitable. Though I'm sure we'll throw a tidy wage at him if he's keen on coming to United. We are, after all, the 20 times champions of England and City are, well, only massive club.

Heard that he was keen to pay for us or interested in the move, in which case it wouldn't matter however if he was anything like Nasri than... well we'd be better of without him anyway cos he could F us in a few years anyway if another Project came along wouldn't it.
I'd actually welcome the crappy to bid, will be a fair judgement of the player if even after that he joins us.

www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2013/06/11/4040479/fabregas-quashes-manchester-united-speculation?ICID=HP_BN_8yeah the quotes from cesc say it all, he worked hard to get back there why throw it all away. for me that ends that. on thiago i'll be honest i still have my reservations mainly as he can over do it sometimes but i guess that can be coached out of him, whilst strootman and carrick can rotate and that will help strootman settle, i still feel a box to box midfielder who can do it all would be the best sort of buy to compliiment the deep lying players next to them. cleverley will develope to be box to box, he needs to add a killer pass and goals, but he has the engine. thiago whilst he has the passes and can get goals i just hope he can do box to box in the prem with all the physicality, cesc would have been perfect but it looks like that is a non starter. thiago we can only hope that deal is wrapped up as he has looked very very hot in the euro's if newcastle would take 10 million i wouldn't mind cabaye that if the barca boys don't come along

Agree with you mighty, though I'd be ecstatic if we signed Thiago & Strooty, both captains of their respective u21 national sides.

Called for Cabaye last year only to be jeered . I still think that he'd be good suit for us. But whether the wee lil club will do business with us is another.
still if we do manage to get Thiago and Strrotman then any aditions in the CM area will be an added bonus this season IMO. Also Too many in-comings and changes in the First Season for Moyes may not be an ideal one. Torn between the Transfer Muppet in me and the Realist and Pre Season's not even started.

Jay it would sort our midfield out for years if they do well and if the sign. add that youngster from monaco on a free if he is any good and we are sorted, all for probably 25-30 million, bargain in todays game. that money can easily be recouped from sales of nani (15), anderson (10), macheda (2), evra(if sold i'd say monaco would pay 2/3). if the club then sell rooney there is money for a stellar name

Cabaye has probably more dead-ball ability than most in our team, would provide a threat from set pieces at least, though RVP has improved us immeasurably in that dept.
Still not overly convinced about the other facets of his game but he'd be a decent squad addition if he was available for under/around 10 mil.

He is good with Dead Ball ,can put in the tackles, Break Up Play pretty much all without much of the glamor and all. He could do what we now do with Jones and it will allow us to play Jones in the Defense. Whether he can be a Good Box to Box i am not going into that but gut feel he'd up a notch if he were playing for us. But Under 10 Mil i am not sure , he may be sold to that for some other club , but if we went in i am sure that'd go up by at least 50%

Any two out of Fabregas, Cabaye, Thiago or Strootman and I'd be happy, I'm guessing asking for three would be greedy? Carrick Thiago Valencia Fabregas Kagawa RvP

I'd rather have Gibson back than Cabaye.
One of the biggest shithouses in the league.
