I don't know why people are taking it as gospel everything Barca say. How many people think Bale will still be a Spurs player come September? Despite Spurs stating he is not for sale and is not leaving? How many think Rooney will remain here? Despite United stating he is not for sale and is not leaving?
Didn't Ferguson categorically say Ronaldo would not leave United, and certainly not to Madrid as he wouldn't sell that mob a virus? Didn't Wenger insist RVP, Nasri and Fabregas would remain at Arsenal?
Managers say shite to make sure they get the best possible transfer fee. We all know this, so why when Barca say Fabregas isn't leaving (despite not one word so far heard from Fabregas himself) are we saying that's it, close the thread it's over?

Man Utd still keen on Fabregas deal
Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino claims it would be up to the Spain international where he played next season and Arsenal are understood to have first option on Fabregas.
However, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger believes the player will remain in Spain.
"What I know is Fabregas will stay one more year at least in Barcelona," said the Frenchman. "That's the information I have. If that changes, I don't know, but that is what I have been told."

Fabregas is too emotionally attached to Barca and will not agree for the transfer. Even if he does, his first preference would be Arsenal.
