I watched the two series of House of Cards on netflix recently, giving television series another shot.
I thought the first one was great. They had an interesting thing going with the triangular storyline of the politicians, lobbyists and press, each having their own agendas and playing off each other. It was probably the best thing I've seen in that format in a long time.
Then with the second series they fucked it all up. Removed the press element completely from the equation, focusing solely on the power struggle in the political arena. And then they introduced one of the worst characters I've ever seen in anything. That fucking hacker. I'm not going to watch the third series.
I take this as evidence of what I already knew. Television is shit. Even on netflix.
Twin Peaks is decent enough. It has some great performances, but there are some useless characters on that show as well. Especially James or whatever his name is. The motorcycle rockabilly guy. I watched Twin Peaks again a year ago or so, and I didn't recall that actor being so awful. The rest of them are mostly good though.

Anyone watched happy valley on BBC one. My mates grandson plays Sarah Lancashire's grandson in it. He is a massive united fan and knows most of the songs,he's only six!! Never seen it but I actually live in Happy Valley. Brilliant! Man how cool is that. "Sir where do you live?" "Happy valley" "Awesome" That's made my day, somewhere actually exists with that name. God bless the Aussies. That's the sunshine for you I suppose.

No man Moc, House of Cards was/is ace.
Some of that shit was legitimately gripping.
Just finished Vikings' second season, ace.
Also, Carl Sagan's Cosmos from back in the day is pretty rad, along with the new one, super informative.

It started going downhill slowly and then fell off a cliff when they introduced that hacker. Worst character ever. I'll just wait for more South Park. And there are rumours of Netflix bringing back Futurama. I just got a free month of Netflix since I recently bought a Wii U. Wasn't planning on extending it, but if they bring back Futurama I might reconsider. You been introduced to David Duchovny yet?

I have two episodes left. It's stunning, out of this world. Agree with your sentiments completely. It's up there with the very best shows I've ever seen. The writing is superb. The one take raid on the stash house is probably the best scene I've ever watched on tv. Could not agree more, I was hooked from the first episode, actually, from the opening credits, stylish as hell. As you said, Episode 4, the shoot out in the projects was incredible. Absolutely agree with y'all - the atmosphere was terrific, starting with the opening credits. And also the fact that they allowed the actors, especially McConahey, to show off this new side of his talent very much got to me. How they integrated that southern landscape was fantastic. For now, easily makes it onto my list of favourite shows ever, let's hope they'll keep their high standards on the next season.

There's never been enough love for Justified imo (apart from Bestie!) I'm biased as a huge Elmore Leonard fan but the show is just superb. They saved it from being a 'villian of the week' to having a clear storyline with Boyd halfway through season 1 and ever since has been one of the best on tv. If you haven't seen it, 4 seasons are on Netflix. Stay with it for the first few episodes. It gets really good, very quickly.

Every show becomes available after its on in the us? You pay per episode like an I tunes or something?

In a nutshell, it’s a streaming service that you pay a monthly subscription for. It’s 7 Euros a month here, 5 quid in England I think. I presume it’s available in Australia, but you’d need to double-check. It has full tv shows, lots of movies and some original shows as well. You can very easily change your content to the US one which has literally 3 times as much content. You can cancel your subscription at any time and there is no fine. Look through the content and see if you think it’s worth a look.

Penny Dreadful is pretty good viewing.
Something different but good production value and so far more than decent.
