Anyone play?
I'm learning, started off by my sister getting me lessons for my birthday but I'm keeping them up. Currently cannot for the life of me figure out one bit of the strumming pattern in the Bon Iver intro. 8 bars in it switches to: D DU D D ... Help please?

Yeah mate. Used to be in a band at Uni. Now do acoustic gigs (sometimes with a mate) both at home and occasionally in Poland (where my friend lives, he arranges it all). Written a couple of albums that I recorded myself at home using a laptop and some decent software.

I don't quite understand your strumming dilemma though!

I also record my own songs. However I am self taught, but I know there's no u note on the guitar. You might need to explain that one.

Think he means up and down strums rather than notes or chords.

What do you record on? I have a Tascam. It works brilliantly. I can even record the drums nicely with just one mic.

You talking about a particular song Bestie? Oh yeah, sorry. Skinny Love, Bon Iver. It's just that one change, can't seem to find the right rhythm for the song. D/U was Down and Up btw, cheers for catching that.

Been trying to upgrade my rig for ages and within two posts you guys seem to have narrowed it down. tascam.com/products/mtr_digital_portastudio/ One of these? DP24. Bought it on ebay for 500-600 Aus dollars. Over half what the store was charging. Doesn't have a drum machine if that's what you want but it's easy as to use. Haven't tried mixing & mastering yet but i've got about 8 unfinished songs on there that sound better than i thought they would, especially considering how i'm recording the drums. Edit. If you buy from America you will get an American AC adapter. I just replaced mine with an Aussie one of similar current ratings but that's probably not the best idea. I need to get an adapter to plug the American AC adapter in.
