Jimi was fantastic for sure but let's not forget Jimmy Page and Tony Iommi from Zepplin and Black Sabbath, two other monsters at their trade... I'd have Jimi as better just for the way he improvised so well when he was so high.

That was my era when I was a young lad. I seen The Who live in Australia in the late 60's and Pete Townshend was pretty nifft'y on the guitar. Smashed his guitar up at the end and flung the bit's and pieces into the audience. Those were the day when I was a teeny bopper, sigh.

There is only one in my book. This guy: I adore Mark Knopfler. I don't blame you on that choice, same age as me (65). Came in the know with Dire Strait's in 1977. Performed with the likes of Clapton, Dylan, Brian Ferry etc. God, I wish I was young again. The early 60's and late 70's was my cup of tea. I had long hair in that era. ' Knopfler is a fingerstyle guitarist and was ranked 27th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. Knopfler and Dire Straits have sold in excess of 120 million albums to date '.

Okay, Bestie, give us an update. You started this thread 3 years ago. How's the guitar playing coming along? When's your album coming out?

I don't play that much any more. I should really get it up and running again.
