Would be pretty daft not to pay the extra 6mill euros or whatever it is now. If we do that I'll actually be convinced we're intentionally making low ball bids for players we don't want just to try to show the fans we're looking to spend. |

Athletic Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde has admitted that there has been some commotion with Ander Herrera after Manchester United’s reported €30 million bid was rejected. Valverde indicated that while Herrera has not refused to play against Real Madrid in their next match, it is unknown whether he will feature. And he also stated that Herrera has not informed Athletic Bilbao that he wants to move to Old Trafford this summer. Speaking through the club’s official Twitter account, Valverde was quoted as saying: “In the biggest clubs you’re always prepared for a switch of players. They know it’s a environment in which they leave. “There’s been some commotion with Ander. He’s ready to play. Whether he does play is another question. “I have no doubts. If he plays or not, that’s the manager’s decision. Not only if the player is ready. We have Mikel who is important. “Ander has not refused to play at Bernabeu (Athletic’s next game v Real Madrid), nor has he told me he wants to go to United. “To play in the situation he is in is not habitual. I’ve spoken to him and he’s within conditions to play.” Herrera’s release clause of €36 million is likely to be met by David Moyes to secure the 24-year-old midfielder after having an initial €30 million bid rejected and Valverde’s admission of the unsettled environment in Bilbao for Herrera indicates that the player does want to make the move, despite opposing claims from Valverde. When a players release clause is met, it is up to the player whether he makes the move. It was the same situation that United found themselves in with Thiago Alcantara. If Herrera does want to make the step up, Athletic Bilbao cannot stop him. Wonder if Ballague will ever get anything right as far as transfers go. Would be nice if this goes thru , most underrated Midfield player in La Liga and my mate seems to think that he is bit more like Wilshere ( Minus the injuries of course).
at this point even if he isn't it means one more player in the Middle and more cover for Carrick as far i am concerned.
Must say though that even if we get signings done on last day ( other than Ronnie) i'd still be mad at Ed and everyone else( MOyes excluded) for dragging this this long.
