On Mata, I’ve no doubt he gives a shit about the club, but so does Patrice Evra, and I wouldn’t advocate him playing for us again. My exaggerated point is that Mata is finished.
Herrera is essentially our best midfield player. Which is sad, cos yeah he’s not a world class footballer by any stretch, so in that way it does show how far we’ve fallen. But I’ll bemoan him leaving all I want when there’s countless other turgid players who also aren’t world class in terms of ability (although they might think they are) and aren’t even half the calibre of professional that Ander is.

For everyone in the "we can do better / not bothered camp" name me your list of replacements that'll take less than £160k a week? IMO: Declan Rice Ruben Neves Tielemans Ndombele (probably, if properly negotiated?) Ndidi Not to forget, we also have McT , Fred, Pereira already here and with the possiblity of Fosu-Mensah as well . We can, and should look younger for that kind of money. |

So he does this poetic "I love the club so much" leaving video. Then refuses to sign a better offer, thinking butter wouldn't melt. Pure greed. Which is what we're trying to steer clear of and berating other players for. A minimal loss is what he'll be.

Honestly find the farewell video kind of cringeworthy as well. You'd think he was an all time great or someone who'd given his career to us. Shoot me if you wish. The commotion about him is another sad reminder about how far we've fallen in my opinion. This is it really. Maybe six is harsh. Six/seven. Yeah that makes sense, jettison players who actually give a shit about the club and have a bit of quality, keep the Instagram brigade, our rebuild just got extended. Does he give a shit or does he just act like he does? Seems to, my mind reading abilities are a bit rusty though. |

Weird seeing someone talk about loving the club but happy to walk away. I wish him well at the next stage of his career and thank him for giving it a good go. Now that is confirmed we can look forward to replacing him.

He’s an average player who can’t tackle for his life and goes to ground far to easily. Him being mourned shows how absolutely mediocre we have become. Fellani had bigger moments at this club than Herrera. |

Not bothered in the slightest. Hes been a good pro but hes not a big loss really. Rumours are rife that the Sanchez wage problem has upset alot of players. I’m curious- a blind man can see our team performs better with Herrera in it. How is he ‘not a big loss really’ in that case? Are you under the impression that we’re going to upgrade him in the transfer market? Seriously? If that were true why have two different managers not been starting him consistently? |
