Honestly find the farewell video kind of cringeworthy as well. You'd think he was an all time great or someone who'd given his career to us. Shoot me if you wish. The commotion about him is another sad reminder about how far we've fallen in my opinion. This is it really. Maybe six is harsh. Six/seven.

For everyone in the "we can do better / not bothered camp" name me your list of replacements that'll take less than £160k a week?

Cheers for the nostalgic video Ander, enjoy the new job (salary)! And five years outstanding service, always showing in the big games, being the de facto captain, MOTM in the Europa... Yeah, for all of these things too. Would have been great if he stuck around now that we need players of his ilk at the club.

There opposite opinions, surely thats what we want on here. Dudes leaving, has been a great player for the club and comments like 'Not bothered' are pointless and stupid. I did explain why I wasnt bothered with his departure. It might have come across all geordie shore to you but it wasnt meant that way. I disagree with your consensus that we are losing a great player. I cant understand the surprise among supporters over this. Supporters using words like disgrace and treacherous make seem excessive to me.

Its not an either or imo.

The option to stay at United wasn't there, every player (or worker) has the right to secure their livelihood and get payed what they feel they're worth. The club broke the psychological contract with Ander, I'd bet he's leaving with a heavy heart but what's his alternative, turn down PSG, retire and sit in the Stretford End as a fan? Obviously not he's still an active player and will move on elsewhere. The calibre of team he's going to speaks volumes about how we fucked up here. Alternative would have been taking a lower wage to stay. He's already making more money than he will ever spend. These ridiculous figures are a vanity exercise. I do think he would of stayed had the PSG offer not been there but you cant blame him for leaving. At the end of the day, footballs a profession and his decision makes sense.

all the best ander, now who's coming in to replace him? No doubt there will be a replacement. say what you want about Ed but this is a decision that Ole has been involved in, if he was adamant the player was a vital cog in his plans then i doubt he wouldn't have been given more money Ole had no signing player privileges as caretaker apparently, he got made permanent at the end of March. Herrera was free to talk to other clubs in January, and in football letting a players contract run to the last 6 months is a massive "fuck you" to the player. Ship had more or less sailed by the time Ole was made permanent imo. Don’t agree with that. This decision wasn’t made in January, also the likes of jones got new deals based on ole giving his blessing and of course the accountant thinking we could get a fee if it didn’t work out due to the players age and league experience

Not bothered. I'd like Mata to follow. Yeah that makes sense, jettison players who actually give a shit about the club and have a bit of quality, keep the Instagram brigade, our rebuild just got extended. Does he give a shit or does he just act like he does?

Yeah that makes sense, jettison players who actually give a shit about the club and have a bit of quality, keep the Instagram brigade, our rebuild just got extended. Does he give a shit or does he just act like he does? Fair question. I think he's a passionate person. He probably carries that wherever he goes. I don't think it was specific to United as I think if he had a specific passion for the club he'd have absolutely stayed. Yeah the club took their time offering the new deal but the fans have always loved him here, he could have took that on board instead. He eventually received reasonable offers and turned them down for more money at the club of all mercenaries. You don't do that if 'your heart is red' or whatever the line was in the video.
I'd prefer to see honesty rather han some soppy arsed goodbye video. "I enjoyed my time at the club, it's a great club but I'm going to win some piss easy, guaranteed trophies in France, probably mainly from the bench whilst pocketing a huge wad of cash in the process.", would've been better.
Then I'd have said fair play and good luck.
