What is the point in comments like this? Jesus wept. There opposite opinions, surely thats what we want on here. Dudes leaving, has been a great player for the club and comments like 'Not bothered' are pointless and stupid.

Far more interested in bidding farewell to a guy who's given us 10 years in Valencia, than a guy who's been here 5 and is jumping ship to Mercenaries 'R' Us for the dosh. I get it, Woodward dropped the ball, didn't make him feel valued and all that shite but he still had the option to stay at a club he's got loads of "passion" for but he's going to PSG for a nice payday instead. He's basically behaving like the type of player most are saying we should be looking to avoid signing in the future. I'm angry because I like him. How can you not with the way he behaves on the pitch and with how he seemingly felt about us off it. But he's ruined it all with this and to go to PSG of all clubs leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. The option to stay at United wasn't there, every player (or worker) has the right to secure their livelihood and get payed what they feel they're worth. The club broke the psychological contract with Ander, I'd bet he's leaving with a heavy heart but what's his alternative, turn down PSG, retire and sit in the Stretford End as a fan? Obviously not he's still an active player and will move on elsewhere. The calibre of team he's going to speaks volumes about how we fucked up here.

all the best ander, now who's coming in to replace him? No doubt there will be a replacement. say what you want about Ed but this is a decision that Ole has been involved in, if he was adamant the player was a vital cog in his plans then i doubt he wouldn't have been given more money

I’m curious- a blind man can see our team performs better with Herrera in it. How is he ‘not a big loss really’ in that case? Are you under the impression that we’re going to upgrade him in the transfer market? Seriously? On his day maybe but in general hes like the rest, woefully inconsistent. Other than the Chelsea game this season, wheres he been outstanding? Hes 31 now and wants a much bigger contract to stay. He was offered terms and turned them down, i suspect those terms were good for a player of his ability. Do you think hes worth 150-200k a week? I know the money in football is insane but we have alot of shit on our books earning that kind of money. I think the club got this right for once. McTominay can play that role and the reason Herrera couldnt get in the side. He couldnt even get in the team over Matic whos been piss poor all season. He’s 29.

It's a pity he's leaving. We can theoretically do better though, regardless of whether we actually sign an upgrade.
Annoyed at the club for it getting to this stage. Annoyed with Herrera for asking what I think we can all agree is a wage above his ability. Shouldn't matter what others are on.
Just a shit situation overall really.

During our run from Ole getting the job til March Herrera was one of the main reasons for that. Notice how our form dropped off a cliff when he got injured? Coincidence? I'd love to hear Ole's private thoughts on this, I'd bet he's hopping mad over it.

Alternative would have been taking a lower wage to stay. He's already making more money than he will ever spend. These ridiculous figures are a vanity exercise.

This is ultimately all I'm saying. You're just putting it across in a more considered manner.

Honestly find the farewell video kind of cringeworthy as well. You'd think he was an all time great or someone who'd given his career to us. Shoot me if you wish.
The commotion about him is another sad reminder about how far we've fallen in my opinion.

Herrera was free to talk to other clubs in January, and in football letting a players contract run to the last 6 months is a massive "fuck you" to the player. Ship had more or less sailed by the time Ole was made permanent imo.

Do you know that United offered a lower wage? Apparently going to PSG for £160k,id surmise any offer we did make must have been at least 20k a week less than that, maybe even 40k less, to make upping sticks and moving to another country after 5 years feasible.
